The School of Liberal Arts was started in the year 2018. It offers programs in English, Psychology, Economics, History, Political Science and Sociology. Our expert faculty provides a conducive environment for the students to grow to the best of their capability. Thanks to a broad-based education pedagogy, students graduating from the Liberal Arts programs at IUU will have a variety of career options not typically available to their counterparts at more traditional Indian universities. The School is organizing a 30 hours long Faculty Development Program on “Advanced Research Methodology in Social Sciences and Humanities”, from February 13 to 19, 2023.

📹 ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Research is an action-packed work that has permeated every sphere of our lives and is no longer limited to only academics. As the interdependence between the disciplines becomes increasingly apparent, the methodologies tend to be gradually more scrutinized from multiple viewpoints. In fact, mixed methodology is the need of the hour to understand the complexities of human reality. Contemporary approaches to research therefore require advanced understanding of methodologies that will help elucidate the interlinkages between various disciplines. This FDP is particularly aimed at understanding both methods and technologies that assist in making sense of rapidly changing times as well as large amount of data. Spanning 6 days and spread over 30 hours, the FDP anticipates acquainting participants with innovative interdisciplinary research methods intended to make them foremost in their eld of expertise. The purpose of this advanced program is to provide an opportunity for distinguished researchers / teachers in India to engage themselves with the senior faculty members and professionals and to have a direct feel of their experiences and perspectives relating to research. Besides lectures, it will also provide hands on practice sessions on analyzing qualitative and quantitative data using software such as NVivo and SPSS respectively.
Objectives of FDP
☛ To guide the research scholars with necessary practices and skills.
☛ To familiarize the participants with latest developments in methodological practice in humanities
and social sciences.
☛ To identify and contemplate on methods, tools, and techniques appropriate to both qualitative and
quantitative approaches.
Learning Outcomes
☛ Pedagogical and didactic practices in humanities and social sciences research.
☛ Writing a research proposal, research projects, research paper, books, reports and approaching
funding agencies.
☛ Disciplinary and Multi-Disciplinary Research.
☛ Undertake meaningful research activities including policy research.
