Government of India founded the Central University of Tamil Nadu, along with eight other Central Universities, through an Act of Parliament in 2009. It is part of the greater role that the Central Government assumed in making higher education accessible to aspirants from the weaker sections of the society. With eight students in M.A. English Studies, the university started functioning from November 2009, at the Collectorate Annexe at Thiruvarur, 60 kilometers to the east of Thanjavur. But today the University sits astride a major tributary of the famous Cauvery river in the heart of the Delta seven kilometers to the north-west of Thiruvarur.

Applications are invited from interested candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (1 No.) at the Department of Geology, School of Earth Sciences, Central University of Tamil Nadu, for a DSTSERB funded Research Project under the scheme of Start-up Research Grant (SRG) vide File No. SRG/2022/001191.
Project Title Thermo-hydro-mechanical controls and induced seismicity during hydraulic fracturing and unconventional energy exploration.

Essential Qualifications
▪ Candidates who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGCNET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship), GATE, and National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their
Agencies and Institutions.
▪ Should possess an M.Sc. degree in Earth Sciences / Geology / Applied Geology or related disciplines with a minimum CGPI/CPI of 6.5/10 or 60 % Marks (or equivalent grade points).
Desirable
▪ Should have some basic understanding of Engineering Geology, Rock Mechanics, Structural Geology, and Geological fieldwork.
▪ Should have basic understanding of mathematics.
▪ Good oral, written and communication skills.
▪ Experience in handling regular laboratory experiments.
🏆 BENEFITS / SALARY / REMUNERATION / PAY SCALE ₹
Fellowship Rs. 31,000/- + 9 % HRA p.m. (as per the CUTN regulations)
