🏫 ABOUT INSTITUTION

Panjab University opened a Regional Centre for imparting quality technical education to kandi area hoshiarpur with the name of Swami Sarvanand Giri Panjab University Regional Centre in year 2006 with four branches of engineering. In 2007 Panjab university started two new courses in LAW as BALLB 5 year integrated course and 3 Years LLB course, and Master of computer applications (MCA).

Panjab University is located in Sector 14 and Sector 25 of Chandigarh, spreading across an area of almost 550 acres. The academic institutes on the campus and four Regional Centres are grouped under the Faculties of Arts, Science, Languages, Law, Education and Fine Arts, Business Management and Commerce, Engineering and Technology, Medical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Dairying, Animal Husbandry and Agriculture. Most of the departments have their own specialized libraries, and the working period runs for at least 180 days in a year. The University has been incorporated for the purpose, among others, of making provision for imparting education in Arts, Letters, Science and the learned professions and of furthering advancement of learning, the prosecution of original research, with power to appoint University Professors, Readers and Lecturers, to hold and manage educational endowments, to erect, equip and maintain University colleges, libraries, laboratories and museums, to making regulations relating to the residence and conduct of students and to do all such acts as tend to promote study and research”.

Walk-in Interviews for appointment to two posts of Guest Faculty, Odd-semester, Academic Session 2022-23 in the School of Communication Studies (SCS) will be held on 04.11.22 in the office of the Chairperson, as per the schedule given below

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

  • Essential qualifications as per UGC & PU Guidelines: MA in Journalism & Mass Communication or equivalent with good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Visually Handicapped) or an equivalent grade at the Masters degree level.
  • Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC in Journalism & Mass Communication or must fulfill the other UGC regulations for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in the University/College/Institute.
  • Desirable qualifications: Working knowledge of editing and design software (Quark Xpress, CorelDraw, Final Cut Pro (FCP), Adobe etc.); Video Camera handling

🏆 SALARY / REMUNERATION / PAY SCALE

  • The post is on purely temporary/contract basis with a salary/honorarium of Rs.1000/- per lecture with an upper limit of Rs. 25000/- per month consolidated.
  • Working hours will be from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m, Monday to Friday.
  • Classes/subjects to be taught will be as per requirement
