🏫 ABOUT INSTITUTION
The Government of West Bengal set up an expert committee on December 31, 1998, under the Chairmanship of Ashesh Prasad Mitra, Eminent Scientist to explore the necessity and scope for establishment of an Engineering / Technology University in the stste of West Bengal. The University came into operation formally with the assumption of the office of the first Vice Chancellor on January 15, 2001 as a sequel to the promulgation of THE WEST BENGAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY ACT, 2001, under West Bengal Act XV of 2000 passed by the West Bengal Legislature. The University started its academic programme, from July 16, 2001 following a Notification from the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal dated June 15, 2001 through the affiliation of Engineering and Management Institutions / Colleges and has entered the eighth year of its functioning. The University is included in Section 2F and also in Section 12B of UGC and recipient of UGC Grant. 🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT
Desirable Qualification:
☛ Capability of guiding the projects work/dissertation at PG Level/Independent research works;
☛ The candidates (for Associate Professor/Professor) should be capable of doing independent research work with the student or capable to supervise Ph D candidate.
☛ Should be well conversed in online/offline/blended mode teaching practices;
☛ Well conversed with PYTHON programming language.
Note-1: Industrial professional experience of 10 years out of which at least 5 years in a position equivalent to the level of Assistant Professor may be recognized as equivalent to Ph D, subject to the decision of the appropriate committee.
Note-2: Industrial professional experience of 20 years out of which at least 10 years in a position equivalent to the level of Assistant Professor is eligible for application to the post of Associate Professor/Professor, subject to the decision of the appropriate committee.
Note-3: Already employed (public sector) applicants should apply through proper channel. Description of Expertise in different posts (at least one of the given Specializations):
- Specialization in Multivariable Data Analysis;
- Specialization in Machine Learning and its applications, Analytics, Big Data using Python, R and MATLAB,
Knowledge of SPSS, Hadoop, SAS. - Specialization in Analytics in the field of Marketing/HR/Sports/Education/Journalism.
- Specialization in Health informatics.
- Specialization in Inferential Statistics, Bio-Statistics.
