National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal is located in Mangalore City, Karnataka State, India. The Institute was established as Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC) in 1960, and upgraded as National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) in 2002. Mangalore is the headquarters of the coastal district of Dakshina Kannada, and boasts an important centre of education, business and trade in the state. Sri. U. Srinivasa Mallya, a visionary and a philanthropist, contributed immensely to the development of the coastal region of Karnataka, and his effort towards establishment of KREC (now NITK) is the most significant one. In recognition of his role as the founder and architect of the institute, the campus premises is named after him as Srinivasnagar.

Applications are invited from the interested candidates for the post of JRF to work on the R&D project titled “Development of low phase noise optoelectronic oscillator with phase compensation approach for radar application” supported by Defence Research and Development Organisation – DRDO, Govt of India. The selected candidate will be appointed initially for one year (on contract) and the services will be extended for next year based on the performance review.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT
B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech./M.E./MS(R)/equivalent in Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Electronics Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/ Electrical & Electronics Engg./Material Science & Engineering/Metallurgical and Materials Engineering/ Chemical Engineering/ Nanotechnology/ Optical Communication/Photonics/ Plasmonics/ Optics/ RF/ Radar Engg./Microwave Photonics/ VLSI/
Communication Engg., and related areas. Those who have M.Sc. degree in Electronics are also eligible. Preference will be given to the GATE/UGC-NET qualified students (old GATE score is also considered).
Note: – The candidate is entitled to register for Ph.D. at NITK, Surathkal.
🏆 SALARY / REMUNERATION / PAY SCALE ₹
Rs. 31,000/- (Per month for 1 st & 2nd years) + HRA as per DRDO norms
Rs. 35,000/- (Per month for 3 rd years) + HRA as per DRDO norms
