🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

1. Essential Qualification (EQ): Candidates should have good academic record with Master’s degree in the relevant or cognate or allied subject with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade point for General/OBC/EWS category and minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade point for SC/ST category. For Sl. No. 1 & 2 the relevant subjects are folkloristics, cultural studies, and folklore studies and the cognate and allied subjects are anthropology, sociology, history and English and for sl. No. 3 & 4 music, painting/fine arts/visual arts respectively. Besides, the candidates must have NET qualification or cleared similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET in the
   concerned subject.
2. Desirable Qualification (DQ): Candidates having Ph. D. degree in the relevant or cognate/allied subjects will be given additional preference. Besides, candidates should have good publications and academic activities with minimum 3 years of teaching experience, part time or full time, at the P.G. or P.G. Diploma level.

• Professor: Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200/-.
• Associate Professor: Rs. 1,31,400 – 2,17,100/-
• Assistant Professor: Rs. 57,700-1,82,400/-

This Employment Notice supersedes the earlier Employment Notices F.No.l-4/Estt.ll(B)/2014-2059 dated 12.11.2015 & F.No.l-4/Estt.ll(B)/2019-2211 dated 25.07.2019. The candidates who have applied earlier against the said Employment Notices dated 12.11.2015 & dated 25.07.2019 for the posts of Professor in NEHU should apply afresh but need not pay for application fees if paid earlier.

Applicants can visit NEHU website (www.nehu.ac.in) for advertisement details and for applying online please visit (recruitment.nehu.ac.in). Fee payment can be done online while applying for the post. Women Candidates and Person With Disabilities are exempted from payment of application fee.

The hard copy form generated online, with duly signed on every pages should be submitted along with all the uploaded necessary supporting documents. The complete hard copy of application form either by hand or by post ( Speed Post/Courier) should reach the Office of the Assistant Registrar(Estt.ll), NEHU, Mawkynroh, Umshing, Shillong- 793022 on or before 22nd April, 2022 during office hours . Application forms not generated from the system will not be accepted. The University is not responsible for any postal or Courier delivery delay. The candidate should mentioned “Application for the post of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor in the Department of” in bold letters on top of the envelope.
