🏫 ABOUT INSTITUTION

The National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management – Thanjavur (NIFTEM-T) is a pioneer Research and Educational Institution under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India. Dr. V. Subrahmanyan. an eminent scientist and founder Director, Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore, after his retirement, started PPRC in 1967 as R & D laboratory in the Modern Rice Mill complex of Thanjavur Co-operative Marketing Federation (TCMF) at Tiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, India under the dedicated leadership and the able guidance of late. The mandate of the Institute at its inception was to seek solutions for preserving high moisture paddy because the paddy harvest season in Southern India coincided with the tail end of the South West monsoon. The Institute was later upgraded as a national laboratory with the name Paddy Processing Research Centre (PPRC) in 1972. At the time of up-gradation the mandates of the Institute were also changed and the scientists in the Institute focused their research in identifying technologies for post harvest procession and preservation of paddy. The Institute was moved to it current location at Thanjavur in 1984.

🎯 TITLE OF THE PROJECT

  • Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Design and Development of a System for Trapping of Bioactive components from selected Fruits (Mango, Orange, Pineapple, Banana and Grape) and Vegetables (Onion, Carrot, Garlic, Mint and Ginger) during Drying process (GAP-054)
  • Project Assistant (PA): Food waste to Microbial Polysaccharides by Fed-Batch Fermentation: A study on the edible and Broad-Spectrum biofilm retrogression properties in association with VBNC state strains (GAP-060)

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

Adjunct Faculty M Tech./M.Sc./Ph.D. with specialization in Post-Harvest Technology/ Food Technology/ Food Engineering/ Food Science/ Food Science and Technology/ Food Science and Nutrition/Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry/Biochemistry or Agricultural Engineering / Chemical Engineering specialized in Food Process Engineering. The desirable qualification is Ph.D. in the respective disciplines Experience: A faculty retired from technical institutions or a person of eminence with a Post graduate or Ph.D. qualifications having 10-15 years of experience from Industry/organization shall satisfy any of the following norms:
☛ Teaching and research organizations of State/ Central government Institutions/ Universities
☛ Central and State Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)
☛ Reputed Industries/Private
☛ NRIs and PIOs working with reputed overseas academic, research and industrial organizations or having a demonstrated interest in Indian issues.

Physical Education Teacher(Contractual)
Essential Qualification:
Good Academic record with Master Degree in Physical Education with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in point scale). A minimum of five years of experience as a physical education teacher in a University, College or accredited Research Institution. Desirable qualification: Record of having represented the university / college at the inter-university /intercollegiate competitions or the State and/ or national championships.

Senior Research Fellow (SRF) (Institute projects) M.Tech / M.Sc. / Ph.D. degree (4 years of UG + 2 years of PG) in Food Process Engineering/ Food Engineering/ Chemical Engineering/ Food Technology/ Agricultural Processing/ Food and Agricultural Processing/ Food Science/ Food Science and Technology/ Food Science and Nutrition/ Food and Nutrition/ Food Chemistry/ Food Technology and Management/ Food Process Engineering and Management/ Food Plant Operations and Management/ Food Safety and Quality Management/ Food Supply Chain Management/ Post Harvest Technology/ Food Process Technology/ Food safety and quality Assurance/ Biotechnology/ Nanotechnology/ Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry / Biochemistry (or) M.Sc. degree (3 years of UG + 2 years of PG) in the above disciplines with NET and 2 years of research experience (or) Ph.D. in the above disciplines. Desirable: Ph.D. with working experience in a Chemical laboratory and experience in handling high-tech Instruments and have qualified food analyst exam

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) M. Tech degree (4 years of UG + 2 years of PG) in Food Process Engineering/ Food Engineering/ Food Technology/ Agricultural Processing/ Food and Agricultural Processing/ Food Science/ Food Science and Technology/ Food Science and Nutrition/ Food and Nutrition/ Food Chemistry/ Food Technology and Management/ Food Process Engineering and Management/ Food Plant Operations and Management/ Food Safety and Quality Management / Food Supply Chain Management/ Post Harvest Technology/ Food Process Technology/ Food safety and quality Assurance

Project Assistant (PA)
M.Tech/ M.Sc. degree in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Food Technology/ Food Safety & Quality Assurance and other Food Technology relevant courses
Desirable: Experience in Microbiology & Molecular Biology Techniques/ Handling PCR/ RT-PCR/ Gel electrophoresis.


🏆 SALARY / REMUNERATION / PAY SCALE

  • Adjunct Faculty Maximum Consolidated Remuneration will be Rs. 80,000/- per month (remuneration will be varied based on experience, expertise in the field)
  • Physical Education Teacher(Contractual) Rs. 36,000/- to Rs. 42,000/- (Consolidated) (remuneration will be varied based on qualification, experience, expertise in the field)
  • Senior Research Fellow (SRF) (Institute projects) Rs. 31,000/- plus applicable HRA
  • Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Rs. 31,000/- plus applicable HRA
  • Project Assistant (PA) Rs. 20,000/- (Consolidated)
