🏫 ABOUT INSTITUTION
The Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health (LGBRIMH) was initially set up as Tezpur Lunatic Asylum under the British Government in April, 1876.In 1922 the hospital was rechristened as Tezpur Mental Hospital. With the progress in the field of psychiatry across the globe, steps were also taken to develop this hospital with modern facilities. Major construction activities were started in 1926. A private firm, “Zardine Menezes Co.,” was hired from Calcutta for undertaking the upgradation works. By the end of 1932 the hospital accommodation rose up to 700 beds. Most of the existing buildings in the Indoor section are of those times.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT
Essential Qualification and Experience for Medical Posts:
Essential Qualification For (SI. No. 1 to 3): (i) A recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-11 or the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956(102 of 1956). Holders of educational qualifications included in Part-11 of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956(102 of 1956). (ii) Post-graduate degree in the concerned speciality or Super speciality mentioned in Section -A of Schedule-VI or equivalent recognized DNB qualification awarded by National Board of Examination.
Essential Experience for Assistant Professor (Super Speciality and other than Superspecialtv):
At least three years teaching experience as Senior Resident/ Demonstrator/Registrar/ Assistant Professor or Lecturer in the concerned Specialty or Super-speciality in a recognized teaching institution after obtaining the first post graduate degree.
Note 1.- Doctorate of Medicine (DM) or Magister Chirurgiae (M. Ch.) qualification of three years’ duration shall be counted towards requirement of teaching experience.
Essential Qualification and experience for Non-Medical posts:
Essential Qualification: ( i) Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Nursing (ii) Ph. D /D.Sc. in Psychiatric Nursing from a recognized Institution/ University.
Essential Experience: 3 years teaching /clinical /research experience in the concerned subject after Ph.D degree.
Associate Professor
Essential Qualification for SI. 1 & 2 : (i) A recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II or the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956(102 of 1956). Holders of educational qualifications included in Part-11 of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956(102 of 1956). (ii) Post-graduate degree in the concerned speciality mentioned in Section -A of Schedule-VI or equivalent recognized DNB qualification awarded by National Board of Examination.
Essential Experience for SI. 1 & 2: At least five years teaching experience as Senior Resident/ Demonstrator/Registrar/ Assistant Professor or Lecturer in the concerned Specialty or Super-speciality in a recognized teaching institution after obtaining the first post graduate degree out of which at least two years shall be as an Assistant Professor.
Essential Qualification for SI.No. 3: (i) Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Nursing (ii) Ph. D /. in Psychiatric Nursing from a recognized Institution/ University.
Essential Experience for SI. No.3: i) At least 5 years teaching & research experience in Psychiatric Nursing out of which 2 years as Assistant Professor in a recognized Institute.
