🏫 ABOUT INSTITUTION
Vidyasagar University, named after one of the most illustrious sons of Bengal as well as one of the doyens of Indian Renaissance, Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar, has grown out of a long cultural and educational movement in West Bengal in general and in the undivided district of Midnapore in particular. The idea of founding a University in the district was mooted by the various organizations, notably by the Regional Education Association, Midnapore, headed by Professor A.K.Gayen of IIT, Kharagpur. The Ghani Committee appointed by the U.G.C. also suggested, among others, for the setting up of a University in Midnapore on the ground of its ‘having a compact area and a manageable number of colleges’ (at that time there were 36 colleges with an enrolment of about 42,000), and also of its ‘having the great advantage of co-operation of the IIT, Kharagpur. The Committee was also of the opinion that the new University would develop on the lines suited to the needs of this backward area.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT
Controller of Examinations
Essential Qualifications:
(i) Uniformly good academic record with a Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale where a grading system is followed.
(ii) At least 15 years’ experience as Sr. Lecturer / Reader / Assistant Professor in the AGP of 7,000/-and above or with 8 years’ of service in the AGP of 8,000/- and above including as Associate Professor along with experience in educational administration in Academic Institution like University, or an institute of higher learning of which 5(five) years must be in a University or in an Institute of Post Graduate Study.
OR
Comparable experience in research establishments and other institutions of higher learning,
OR
15(fifteen) years’ administrative experience, of which 8(eight) years shall be as Deputy Registrar or equivalent post.
(iii) Age not less than 40 years. Relaxable in the case of exceptionally qualified candidate.
Desirable Qualification:
(i) A Doctorate degree or published research work of merit
OR
(ii) High level administrative experience in government / quasi-government organization or a good background in administration and management in a senior position.
(iii) For the post of Controller of Examinations, it is essential to have experience in conduction of examinations either in institution of higher learning or in Service Commissions.
Assistant Controller of Examinations
Essential Qualifications:
(i) Uniformly good academic record with a Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale where a grading system is followed.
(ii) At least 10(ten) years’ experience in a Supervisory capacity in a University or a Research Institute or a Government I Quasi government organization.
(iii) At least 5 (five) years’ administrative experience.
(iv) Age not below 30 (thirty) years. Relaxable in the case of exceptionally qualified candidate.
Desirable Qualification:
(i) At least 3 (three) years’ experience in conducting examinations in either undergraduate teaching institution or equivalent.
🏆 SALARY / REMUNERATION / PAY SCALE ₹
- Controller of Examinations Revised Pay: 1,44,200/- (Level – 14) and other allowances as admissible.
- Assistant Controller of Examinations Pay Band: 57,700 (Level -10) and other allowances as admissible.
