Established under the Punjab Government Act No. 25 (2015) and approved under the Section 2(f) of UGC Act (1956) to confer degrees. Akal University has a mission and vision to establish permanent peace in the world through values based scientific education and spiritual rejuvenation creating good global citizens. With blessings from Sant Baba Attar Singh Ji Maharaj, the establishment of Akal University under the leader ship of Baba Iqbal Singh Ji by the Kalgidhar Trust (Baru Sahib) is culmination of what the Tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, prophesied about three centuries ago. Akal University has been mandated to carry out activities pertaining to the three basic principles of higher education: Teaching, Learning and Research. The University is successfully running UG (Honours), PG and PhD programs in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, English, Punjabi, Psychology, Commerce, Economics, Social Sciences, and Sri Guru Granth Sahib Studies. Striving for excellence in teaching and research, the University also offers BCA (Hons), B.Tech. (CSE), PhD (CSE), MBA and four years integrated B.Sc.B.Ed./B.A.B.Ed program. 🏡 ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The department has been established to produce globally competent graduates having creative skills and ethical values keeping pace with ever-changing technological advancements in Computer Science and Engineering. Currently the Department of Computer Science offers B.Tech. (CSE-Data Science), B.C.A. (Data Analytics) and Ph.D (Computer Science) The Department provides exposure to emerging technologies as well as futuristic technologies like High Performance Computing, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Information and Cyber Security and Software Development. To provide full hands-on exposure to most recent and advanced software, the department laboratories are fully equipped with high speed computing facilities.

🎯 EVENT OVERVIEW

The main objective of this programme is to train the faculty members and researchers in required technology and knowledge to carry out data analysis using Machine Learning Tools. The programme will help the faculty members to develop, design and implement data analytics model and assist them to carry out analysis and to provide support to the students. This programme will also help the participants to explore the usage of Machine Learning tools to carry out research and hence for career advancement. The focus of this faculty development programme is to provide the participants the latest knowledge about various data analytics tools and improve their research acumen. The FDP will consist of online lectures and learning-by-doing sessions. This FDP aims to provide an introduction to the fundamental concepts in machine learning, programming tools and packages and popular machine learning algorithms. The participants will gain knowledge in Machine Learning principles through a lot of real-time applications

🌟 EXPECTED OUTCOME

The FDP programme will be an online interactive workshop aimed to develop an understanding of data analysis and also designing and carrying out research using machine learning tools to guide students for research projects and dissertation. This FDP will offer practical learning-by-doing approach to use data analytics. It will provide a comprehensive understanding of applications using variety of machine learning tools and algorithms for handling data. The FDP will help in building models that can be learned from data using available open source tools which will equip faculty to effectively guide their own research and scholars. The faculty members will develop requisite data analytics skills and will learn how to apply them in the changing research scenario
