The Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMSc), funded by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India, is a national Institution for fundamental research in the theoretical sciences. Research at the institute is internationally recognized. The institute runs a selective PhD program, supports several scientists at the post-doctoral level, and runs an active visiting scientist programme, hosting scientists from all over the world. IMSc faculty members conduct research, advise graduate students, teach in our graduate programs, participate in outreach activities and have other professional responsibilities. The Institute has a liberal leave and sabbatical policy, is generous with travel support for scientific purposes and is assisted by a supportive administration.
IMSc is looking for a dynamic and innovative Scientific Officer (Systems) with strong academic and professional credentials and sufficient experience in Technical and Software skill and working knowledge.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT
Qualification : Candidates should have completed either a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Physics/Mathematics/Computer Science/IT/Computer Applications)
(OR)
Bachelor’s Degree (B.E, B.Tech. or equivalent) in Engineering (Computer Science / ECE/EEE/IT) from a reputed College / Institution.
Experience : Minimum 03-05 years
Desirable : Experience in a similar position in a reputed academic institution.
Essential Skills :
◆ Linux/Mac/Windows System administration
◆ Knowledge of computer architecture, storage and computer networking
◆ Proficiency in Unix/Linux shell scripts, C++, Python, PHP
◆ Maintenance of software and hardware infrastructure in large data-centres
◆ Knowledge of multimedia projection, Video- conferencing, web-casting, etc.
◆ Knowledge of web applications, content management.
◆ Knowledge of IT security
◆ Ability to learn on the job
◆ Strong interpersonal skill and the ability to function in team environment
◆ Knowledge of tender processing and inventory management;
Desirable Skills:
◆ Work experience in maintaining LINUX / UNIX systems in a LAN environment
◆ Well versed in problem solving and trouble shooting
◆ Knowledge of database management systems
◆ Knowledge of HPC cluster management
◆ Proficiency in programming languages MySQL, Perl, Java, in addition to essential skills in C++, PHP, Python, Unix Shell Scripting
◆ Experience in MPI, GPU coding
