The Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) is a national apex body which was set up in 1966 by the packaging and allied industries and the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, with the specific objective of improving the packaging standards in the country. The Institute is an autonomous body working under the administrative control of the Ministry of Commerce. The Institute endeavors to improve the standard of packaging needed for the promotion of exports and create infrastructural facilities for overall packaging improvement in India. This is achieved through the Institute’s multifarious activities which are today, in line with those of premier packaging institutes the world over. The Institute aims to make India a focal point for contemporary developments in Art, Science, Technology and Engineering, with respect to the field of Packaging.
Engagement of contractual staff at IIP – Adjunct Professor, Assistant Professor, Young Profcssional/Consultant, Librarian & Designer, Indian Institute of Packaging is an autonomous and apex body working under the Ministry of Commerce &lndustry, Govt, of India for promotion of packaging standards and exports in the country since 1966. With its Headquarters and Principal Laboratories in Mumbai and other Regional Offices, activities of the Institute arc in line with those of the world’s Premiere Packaging Institutes.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT
Adjunct Professor A person of eminence with Ph. D or Retired Professor with similar qualification and experience. A Master’s degree (M. Sc /M. Tech/ MS) in Science/Applied Science/Packaging Technology/Printing Technology/Material Science/Food Technology/Pharmaceutical Science/Polymer Science/Ceramic/Paper Technology/Designing or equivalent with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant /allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
Assistant Professor A Master’s degree (M. Sc /M. Tech/ MS) in Science/Applied Science/Packaging Technology/Printing Technology/Material Science/Food Technology/Pharmaceutical Science/Polymer Science/ Ceramic/Paper Technology /Packaging Designing, Post-Harvest technology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Dairy Technologist or equivalent with 55% marks from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University. Desirable: NET/SLET conducted by UGC, CSIR and State Government.
Young professional
Graduation with three years’ experience in similar administrative capacity. Post graduate or MBA with two-year experience in admin matters/ good communication skills in Hindi & English (speaking & writing, letter drafting, business communication, sound computer knowledge of MS Office etc.)
Librarian
Master’s Degree in Library Science/ Information Science/ Documentation with at least 55% marks and consistently good academic record.
Designer
Master’s Degree in Design or equivalent with at least 55% marks and consistently good academic record.
🏆 SALARY / REMUNERATION / PAY SCALE ₹
- Adjunct Professor Rs.80000/-(consolidated)
- Assistant Professor Rs.55,000/- for Ph.D. & Rs.45,000/- for Masters (consolidated)
- Young Professional/Consultant up to Rs.45000/-(Consolidated)
- Librarian up to Rs.45000/-(Consolidated)
- Designer up to Rs.45000/-(Consolidated)
