Punjab Sports University, officially Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University, is a residential and affiliating sports state university in Patiala, Punjab, India. Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University which is located in Bakhshiwala, Punjab. The college provides quality higher education in Sports streams at graduate and research level. The College regularly organises various national and international conferences and workshops every year on current noteworthy topics and modern trends. 🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

Controller of Examination1) Master’s Degree with at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed 2) At least 15 years of experience as Assistant Professor in the Academic Level 11 and above or with 8 years of service in the Academic Level 12 and above including as Associate Professor along with experience in educational administration. OR 3) Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education, OR 15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post

Librarian
Essentials 1) A Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point’s scale and consistently good academic record set out in these Regulations. 2) At least thirteen years as a Deputy Librarian in a University Library or eighteen years’ experience as a College Librarian. 3) Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work. 4) Consolidated API score requirement of 400 points. Desirable M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree in Library Science/Information Science / Documentation/Archives and Manuscriptkeeping

Assistant Professor (Physical Education)
1) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Physical Education from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. 2) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET:- Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Byelaws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:-
a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;
b) The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners; c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
d) The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal;
e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC / ICSSR/ CSIR or any similar agency. (a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Vice Chancellor/Pro Vice Chancellor Dean (Academic Affairs)/Dean (University Instructions).
3) A relaxation of 5% shall be allowed at the Bachelor’s as well as at the Master‘s level for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Classes (OBC)(Non-creamy Layer)/Differently abled ((a) Blindness and low vision; (b) Deaf and Hard of Hearing; (c) Locomotors disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid-attack victims and muscular dystrophy; (d) Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness; (e) Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under (a) to (d) including deaf-blindness) for the purpose of eligibility and assessing good academic record for direct recruitment. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based only on the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedure.
4) A relaxation of 5% shall be provided, (from 55% to 50% of the marks) to the Ph.D. Degree holders who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to19 September, 1991.
5) A relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55%, wherever the grading system is followed by a recognized university, at the Master’s level shall also be considered valid.
6) PhD Degree shall be a mandatory qualification for direct recruitment.

Assistant Professor (Sports Science) 1) Master’s Degree in Physiology/Sports Physiology/Exercise Physiology/Sports Science with 55% marks with NET Cleared or Ph.D. in Physiology/Sports Physiology/Exercise Physiology/Sports Science as per UGC regulations modified from time to time.
2) Graduation in Science Subjects.
3) Working experience in the field of exercise and sports physiology will be preferred.
4) NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for such Master’s programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
5) Candidates, who are, or have been awarded a PhD degree in accordance with the UGC( Minimum Standards and Procedure for award of PhD degree) Regulations, 2009 or the subsequent Regulations, if notified by the UGC, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent position in Universities/Colleges/Institutions Provided further, the award of Degree to candidates registered for the M.Phil./Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances / Bye-laws / Regulations of the Institutions awarding the Degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges / Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:-
a) Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only;
b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners;
c) Open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate had been conducted;
d) Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one must be in a refereed journal; e) Candidate has made at least two presentations in conference /seminars, based on his/her Ph.D work. (a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Vice Chancellor/Pro Vice Chancellor Dean (Academic Affairs)/Dean (University Instructions).
6) A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and Master’s level for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe / Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently-abled)/Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non-creamy layer) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures.
7) A relaxation of 5% is admissible, from 55% to 50 % of the marks to the PhD degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to September 19 1991.

Assistant Professor (Yoga) 1) Good academic record, with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a pointscale wherever the grading system is followed) at the Master’s degree in Yoga or any other relevant subject, or an equivalent degree from an Indian/foreign University. 2) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or a similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time. OR 3) A Master’s degree in any discipline with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) and a Ph.D. Degree in Yoga in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be. Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Byelaws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions :-

Yoga Instructor
Essentials
1) Any graduate from a recognized University established under UGC Act with minimum 55% marks.
2) Post – Graduation Diploma of at least one year duration in Yoga Education/Yoga Studies/Yoga Science from a recognized University/Institute established under the UGC Act.
3) Level II of Yoga Professional Competence Exam of Quality Control of India (QCI) sponsored by Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India.
4) Practical experience in Yoga in a reputed Yoga Institute/University/College/School for a minimum period of two years.
5) Demonstration Skills in Yogic practices, for which skill test will be conducted.
6) Age not exceeding 30 years.
Desirable
7) Practical ability to perform Yogic Science.
8) Experience in giving Yoga Instructions at different levels. 9) Knowledge of Computer Operations. 10)Working knowledge of Hindi, Punjabi and English Languages.

Physical/ Fitness Trainer
Essential
1) BPeD/ Graduate in Physical Education & Sports/ Sports Science &
2) Post Graduate Diploma in Health Fitness and Wellness or Health Fitness Trainer with at least 3 years’ experience in Fitness industry OR
3) Master degree in Sports/ Sports Science/ Physical Education, with at least 2 years’ experience in Fitness industry &
4) Certificate course with 60 hours of training in Health, Fitness & Exercise Instruction/ Strength & Conditioning Training. Desirable Certified Strength & Conditioning Expert (CSCE)
