🏫 ABOUT INSTITUTION

Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) came into existence on 20th September, 1999 following the amendment in Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Act, 1982, through the State Legislature. The establishment of SKUAST of Jammu has in its background aspirations, commitment and missionary zeal to cater the needs of Jammu Division for the region specific advances through education, research and extension in the field of agriculture. The university is mandated to address the basic, strategic and applied research related to enhanced production in agriculture and allied sectors (livestock health improvement and quality based products). SKUAST-Jammu is striving to achieve high standards of excellence in education, research and extension for the betterment of farming community of the region. SKUAST-J is a multi-campus university with it’s headquarter located at Chatha, Jammu.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

Registrar
Essential
i. 1st Class Master’s degree (Preferably Agriculture/ Veterinary or allied Sciences)
ii. 15 year’s administrative/ academic experience in University/ Government/ autonomous body of which 8 years should be in the rank of Associate Professor/ Deputy Registrar or equivalent
iii. Experience of establishment work, personnel management and knowledge of service rules.
Desirable
i. Knowledge of modem agricultural education system
ii. Degree in Law
Note:
a) In case of deputation, a Selection scale IAS Officer or equivalent from administrative cadre.
b) Screening /Short listing of the candidates for above post will be as per the prescribed eligibility requirements.

Director Research
Essential
i. Doctorate degree in any branch of Agriculture/ Veterinaiy or allied sciences
ii. 15 years’ experience of teaching/ research and/or extension of which at least 05 years should be in the rank of Professor/ Chief Scientist or equivalent in an Agricultural University or Research Institute (The period spent in obtaining Ph. D degree will not be counted as teaching/ research and/or extension experience).
Desirable
Evidence of leadership and outstanding achievements in research and organizing research

Director Education
Essential
i. Doctorate degree in any branch of Agriculture/ Veterinary or allied Sciences.
ii. 15 years’ experience of teaching/ research and/or extension of which at least 05 years should be in the rank of Professor/ Chief Scientist or equivalent in an Agricultural University or Research Institute (The period spent in obtaining Ph. D degree will not be counted as teaching/ research and/or extension experience).
Desirable
i. Evidence of leadership and outstanding achievements in teaching and organizing teaching.
ii. Good knowledge of modem agricultural educational system.

Director Extension
Essential
i. Doctorate degree in any branch of Agriculture/ Veterinary or allied sciences
ii. 15 years’ experience of teaching/ research and/or extension of which at least 05 years should be in the rank of Professor/Chief Scientist or equivalent in an Agricultural University or Research Institute (The period spent in obtaining Ph. D degree will not be counted as teaching/ research and/or extension experience).
iii. Familiarity with the rural society of the State and knowledge of the State language and local language
Desirable
i. Evidence of conducting and organizing extension work in agriculture or allied fields
ii. Evidence of research/ teaching experience in agriculture/ veterinary or allied sciences

Director Planning and Monitoring
Essential
i. Doctorate degree in any branch of Agriculture/Veterinary or allied sciences (Basic and post graduate degree in the concerned subject will be essential)
ii 15 years’ experience of teaching/ research and/or extension of which at least 05 years should be in the rank of Professor/Chief Scientist or equivalent in an Agricultural University or Research Institute (The period spent in obtaining Ph. D. degree will not be counted as teaching/ research and/ or extension experience).
iii. Experience of Project Planning in the field of Agricultural Education/ Research/ Extension.
Desirable
i. Evidence of Leadership & outstanding achievements in teaching, planning, research and organizing teaching/ students welfare activities.
ii. Good knowledge of modem agricultural educational system.

Dean, Subject Matter Faculties (i) Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry / (ii) Faculty of Agriculture / (iii) Faculty of Basic Sciences
Essential
i. Doctorate degree in any discipline/ subject of the concerned faculty.
ii. 15 years’ experience of Teaching/ Research and/or Extension of which at least 05 years should be in the rank of Professor/Chief Scientist or equivalent in an Agricultural University or Research Institute (The period spent in obtaining Ph. D. degree will not be counted as teaching/ research and/ or extension experience).
Desirable
i. Evidence of Leadership 8s outstanding achievements in teaching & organizing teaching.
ii. Good knowledge of modem agricultural educational system.

Dean, Student Welfare
Essential
i. Doctorate degree in any discipline/ subject in Agriculture or allied sciences; and
iii. 15 years’ experience of Teaching/ Research and/or Extension of which at least 05 years should be in the rank of Professor/Chief Scientist or equivalent in an Agricultural University or Research Institute (The period spent in obtaining Ph. D. degree will not be counted as teaching/ research and/ or extension experience).
Desirable
i. Evidence of Leadership & outstanding achievements in teaching & organizing teaching;
ii. Good knowledge of modem agricultural educational system; and
iii. Basic and postgraduate degree in the concerned discipline/subject in Agriculture or allied sciences.
