🏫 ABOUT INSTITUTION
The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on 10th December, 1966 to fulfill long cherished dream of the people of Western Odisha for establishment of a University. The University started functioning from 1st January, 1967 with Prof.Parsuram Mishra as the first Vice-Chancellor. The University was inaugurated on 4th January, 1967 by Hon’ble Chancellor A.N.Khosla. The University started functioning in 1967 in a rented private building at Dhanupali, Sambalpur and in Government building at Ainthapali, Sambalpur from 1968 – 72. In the year 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT
SUIIT invites applications from the intending persons (in prescribed format) for the post of Director, SUIIT. The Director of SUIIT, being the academic as well as administrative head, is expected to have proven administrative, teaching and research background (including significant in research guidance at the Ph. D level) with the leadership to head the institute.
Required qualifications, eligibility criteria, pay structure:
- The Director of SUIIT, being the academic as well as administrative head, is expected to have proven administrative, teaching and research background (including significant experience in research guidance at the Ph.D. level) with the leadership qualities to head an Institute. The eligibility and qualification of the Director shall be same as that of a Professor in any of the existing areas of Engineering and Technology in SUIIT (Computer Science, Electronics, Physics (Electronics specialization), CSE, ECE, EEE) as per UGC norms.
- The candidate should be a Ph.D. in appropriate branch.
- The post will carry the scale of pay as that of a Professor in Sambalpur University with other allowances as decided by Selection Committee.
- The Director shall be appointed by the Vice Chancellor for tenure of three years.
- The leave and other service terms and conditions will be as per SUIIT guideline.
- Persons joining in lien/deputation from Govt, institutions will be considered as per Govt, rules.
- No objection from the authority of his/her working institution will be necessary.
- The Institute reserves the right to shortlist eligible candidates.
Eligibility (A or B):
i. An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 research publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 120 as per the criteria given in Appendix 11, Table 2 of UGC Regulation 2018.
ii. A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, and/or research experience at equivalent level at the University/National Level Institutions with evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidate(s).
B. An outstanding professional, having a Ph.D. degree in the relevant/allied/applied disciplines, from any academic institutions (not included in A above)/industry, who has made significant contribution to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, supported by documentary evidence, provided he/she has ten years’ experience.
For the post of Professor (Director, SUIIT) the following relaxation are allowed:
i. A minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale, wherever the grading system is followed) at the Master’s level shall be the essential qualification for direct recruitment of teachers and other equivalent cadres at any level.
ii. A relaxation of 5% shall be allowed at Bachelor’s as well as at the Master’s level for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Differently-abled (a) Blindness and low vision; (b)Deaf and Hard of Hearing; (c) Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid-attack victims and muscular dystrophy; (d) Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness; (e) Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under (a) to (d) including deaf-blindness) for the purpose of eligibility and assessing good academic record for direct recruitment. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based only on the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedure.
iii. A relaxation of 5% shall be provided, (from 55% to 50% of the marks) to the Ph.D. Degree holders who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September,1991.
iv. A relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55%, wherever the grading system is followed by recognized university at the Master’s level shall also be considered valid.

The field in application form signed by the candidate must be submitted along with a Non-Refundable Demand Draft of Rs. 700.00 (General Category) or Rs. 350.00 (for ST, SC and Women Category) drawn in favour of ‘Director, SUIIT’ payable at SBI, Jyoti Vihar branch (code no – 6672) or can deposit the said amount in the S/B A/C No. 31160735339 in favour of ‘Director, SUIIT, Sambalpur University’ directly through money transfer / NEFT. (IFSC Code – SBIN0006672, MICR Code – 768002009). Applications without the Bankdraft or Bank challan shall not be considered. The receipt or proof of deposit should be attached with the application. No fee is required for PWD candidates.
The Application form duly filled in by the candidate must be supported by Self-Attested copies of all certificates, mark sheets, evidence of UG & PG teaching, research experience and production of Ph.D., copies of published article(s), certificate(s) containing the record of date of birth and other documents as per the University Statute.

Application submitted not in the prescribed format shall also be summarily rejected. The institute will not be responsible for any kind of postal delay.
