🏫 ABOUT INSTITUTION

The Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE) Engineering is an Institute of National Importance at par with IITs and IIMs and enacted by Parliament vide the Indian Institute of Petroleum & Energy Act, 2017 (No: 3 of 2018). It has started its operations in Visakhapatnam, the state of Andhra Pradesh at AU College of Engineering as its temporary campus. Govt. of Andhra Pradesh has allotted Ac 201.80 cts of land at Vangali Village, Sabbavaram Mandal, Visakhapatnam where the permanent campus is going to come. IIPE is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India and backed by public sector Oil and Gas giant viz. HPCL, IOCL, ONGC, GAIL, OIL whose CEOs are on the Board of IIPE.

IIPE aims to be one of the top ranked institutes at National and International level in the Petroleum and Energy sector, research has the core activity. The students will be selected based on the JEE Advanced ranks. IIPE has tied up with IIT Council for the selection of candidates for every academic session that began on August 01, 2016. Consequently for the coming academic year 2020-21,IIPE has been tied up with IIT Delhi for the selection of candidates.

The Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy is offering two undergraduate courses viz. Petroleum Engineering and Chemical Engineering. The first batch for the academic session 2016-17 has commenced in the first week of August. Now four batches have been admitted and fifth batch admission of 2020-21 are in progress. The campus is fully loaded with laboratories, workshops, e-library and Wi-Fi access for all the students.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

QUALIFICATION
Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with consistently very good academic record throughout.

EXPERIENCE
Eligibility and experience will be reckoned as on last date for receipt of applications.

PROFESSOR
At least 10 years industrial / research / teaching experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign institution(s) of comparable standards.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
At least 6 years industrial / research / teaching experience of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor Grade-I or equivalent positions in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs or in any such other Indian or Foreign Institution(s) of comparable standards.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR GRADE – I
At least 3 years industrial / research / teaching experience excluding, however, the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D. Candidate should have good publications and teaching potential.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR GRADE – II
Candidates with less than three years of industrial / research / teaching experience may be appointed on contractual basis as Assistant Professor Grade-II.
The candidates should have completed PhD thesis defence/Viva voce and obtained provisional certificate before the application date. At the entry level they may be placed in Academic Pay Level 10 at Cell 8 (Rs. 70,900/-) or Academic Pay Level 11 at Cell 10 (Rs. 89,900/-) or Academic Pay Level 11 at Cell 11 (Rs. 92,600/-) depending upon the experience after PhD. After completion of one year service in the Academic Pay Level 10 shall move to Academic Pay Level 11, and after three years of service and performance evaluation by an appropriate committee to Academic Pay Level 12 as Assistant Professor Grade-I with one year probation.
Assistant Professor Grade-II appointed in the Academic Pay Level 11 at Cell 10 shall move to Academic Pay Level 12 (Rs.101500/-) as Assistant Professor Grade-I after two years of service and performance evaluation by an appropriate committee with one year probation. Similarly, Assistant Professor Grade-II appointed in the Academic Pay Level 11 at Cell 11
shall move to Academic Pay Level 12 (Rs.101500/-) as Assistant Professor Grade-I after one year of service and performance evaluation by an appropriate committee with one year probation.

Registrar
Essential Qualification:
A master’s degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate from recognized and reputed university in India/overseas or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the UGC seven-point scale, and consistently good academic record.
Essential Experience:
(i) At least 15 years’ of experience in an institution of higher education of repute as Assistant Professor in Level 11 of Pay Matrix Rs. 68900-117200/- (Pre-revised: PB-3, AGP Rs. 7000/-) and above along with experience in educational administration or with 8 years’ of service in Level 12 of Pay Matrix Rs. 101500-167400/- (Pre-revised: PB-3, AGP Rs. 8000/-) and above including as Associate Professor along with experience in educational administration in an institution of repute; or
(ii) Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of repute; or
(iii) At least15 years’ of administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar in Level 12 of Pay Matrix Rs. 78800-209200/- (Pre-revised: PB-3, GP Rs. 7600/- ) and above or an equivalent post in an institution of higher education of repute.
Desirable:
(i) Experience in administration and proven ability to coordinate and lead a team of members from various departments/wings/sections, including Administration, Academic, Finance, Materials Management, Security and Legal matters of an academic Institution of National Importance.
(ii) Qualification in area of Management/Engineering/Law.

Deputy Librarian
Essential Qualification & Experience: (a) Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/ Documentation Science with at least 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA in a grade point scale in qualifying degree and a consistently good academic record (b) at least 5 years of professional experience as an Assistant Librarian in pay level 10 or equivalent scale in a Library under CFTI/State/ Autonomous or statutory organization/PSU/University or recognized research or educational institution.
Desirable:
(a) A M.Phil. /Ph.D. Degree in library science/Information science / Documentation/Archives and manuscript-keeping/computerization of library with digital library experiences
(b) First class or equivalent grade in all university level degrees in respective discipline with a consistently good academic record. Maximum age limit: Not exceeding 50 years.

Officer IT (Network Engineer)
Essential Qualification & Experience:
(a) B.E. / B. Tech /M.Sc. degree in Computer Science and Engineering/Information Technology or equivalent or MCA from a recognised University/Institute of repute with at least 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA in a grade point scale, with at least 8 years’ relevant experience in the following areas.

(b) ME/M.Tech./M.S. degree in Computer Science and Engineering/Information Technology or equivalent from a recognised University/Institute of repute with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in a grade point scale, with at least 6 years’ relevant experience in the following areas. Relevant Experience: Proven competence in planning, design, deployment/installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of large wired and wireless networks. Working experience on networking software, hardware, and networking protocols and services. Must have a strong background in working with switches, routers, access points, wireless controllers, firewalls, network management systems, DNS/DHCP/Proxy servers etc. Strong troubleshooting skills of network functions. A proven track record of designing/maintaining/securing campus network, and IT process, configuration, installation and deployment of servers and PCs. Working knowledge of motherboard, processors, memory circuits, etc.
Desirable Certification:
CCIE (Cisco), CCNA (cisco), CCNP (Cisco), Network+ (CompTIA), Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP), WCNA (Wireshark). Applicants with extensive hands-on experience in planning/designing/maintaining/securing campus network at client places especially at academic Institutions of National Importance will get higher preference. Officer IT (System Engineer)
Essential Qualification & Experience:
(a) B.E. / B. Tech /M.Sc. degree in Computer Science and Engineering/Information Technology or equivalent or MCA from a recognised University/Institute of repute with at least 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA in a grade point scale, with at least 8 years’ relevant experience in the following areas. Essential Qualification & Experience:
(a) B.E. / B. Tech /M.Sc. degree or equivalent in Computer Science and Engineering/Information Technology or MCA from a recognised University/Institute of repute with at least 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA in a grade point scale, with at least 8 years’ relevant experience in the following areas. Technician
Essential Qualification & Experience:
(a) Bachelor‘s Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent in appropriate field with at least 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA in a grade point scale in qualifying degree from a recognized University/ Institute, with at least two years relevant experience in laboratories of teaching/research Institutes/Industries or Organizations. OR
(b) Three years Diploma in Engineering or equivalent in appropriate field (after 10+2) with at least 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA in a grade point scale in qualifying degree from a recognized University/Institute, with at least three years relevant experience in laboratories of teaching/research Institutes/Industries or Organizations. Wiremen License / Permit issued by Chief Electrical Inspector / Competent Authority of respective State is essential for candidates with electrical specialization. Technical Assistant (Academic/Administration/Procurement)
Essential Qualification & Experience:
(a) Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from recognized university with at least 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA in a grade point scale in qualifying degree
(b) at least two (02) years relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
Relevant Experience: (i) Experience in activities related to students’ admission, semester registration, examination; or experience in handling establishment matters, recruitment, NPS, insurance, scholarship, LTC, CPDA, dispatch; or experience in procurement activities in any Central Govt. Organisation/ reputed Educational Institute along with working experience on GeM/ CPPP/ e-Wizard and knowledge of GFR/ Public Procurement; (ii) Proficiency in the use of variety of computer office applications, M.S Word, Excel, Power-point or equivalent in computerised administration. Lab Assistant (Mechanical Engineering)
Essential Qualification & Experience:
(a) Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Mechanical or equivalent in appropriate field with at least 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA in a grade point scale in qualifying degree from a recognized University/ Institute, with at least two years relevant experience in laboratories of teaching/research Institutes/Industries or Organizations. OR

Essential Qualification & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from recognized university with at least 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA in a grade point scale in qualifying degree with at least 5 years of experience out of which at least 02 years of relevant experience in personal secretarial profession in a large-scale industry or in a reputed university and / or Professional or Larger Educational Institute with an excellent proficiency in English language, computer knowledge with key depression speed of 40 w.p.m., computer office applications, M.S Word, Excel, Power-point or equivalent. Should be able to handle correspondence independently and would have to coordinate with all departments / Centers/ Sections/ Units and activities of the Institute.

Faculty Positions (Rolling Advertisement)
RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Advertisement of faculty recruitment is rolling. That means, you may apply any time during the year. However, applications will be processed twice a year (15 May and 20 October) separately, through selection committee, based on the requirement.
