🏫 ABOUT INSTITUTION

The Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT) is a pioneer Research and Educational Institution under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India. Dr. V. Subrahmanyan. an eminent scientist and founder Director, Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore, after his retirement, started PPRC in 1967 as R & D laboratory in the Modern Rice Mill complex of Thanjavur Co-operative Marketing Federation (TCMF) at Tiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, India under the dedicated leadership and the able guidance of late. The mandate of the Institute at its inception was to seek solutions for preserving high moisture paddy because the paddy harvest season in Southern India coincided with the tail end of the South West monsoon. The Institute was later upgraded as a national laboratory with the name Paddy Processing Research Centre (PPRC) in 1972. At the time of up-gradation the mandates of the Institute were also changed and the scientists in the Institute focused their research in identifying technologies for post harvest procession and preservation of paddy. The Institute was moved to it current location at Thanjavur in 1984.


Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT) is a National Academic and Research Institute under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPl), Government of India, engaged in research and development in the areas of food processing and value addition. IIFPT offers B. Tech., M. Tech, and Ph.D programs in the area of Food Processing.
Applications are invited from bright, dynamic and highly motivated candidates with requisite eligibility criteria as furnished below for the following faculty positions at IIFPT, Thanjavur on direct recruitment basis.

  • Associate Professor (Food Process/ Agricultural Process Engineering)

  • Assistant Professor (Food Science/Food Science & Nutrition)

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

Associate professor: 01 (Food Process Engineering/Agricultural Process Engineering) (EWS): Pay Level:13A as per VII CPC:
Essential Qualifications:
i. Doctoral Degree in Post-Harvest Technology, Food Technology / Food Engineering, Food Process Engineering, Agricultural Process Engineering or Agricultural Engineering / Chemical Engineering specialized in Food Processing.
ii. Doctoral degree in relevant engineering with 6 years’ experience as Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist or in an equivalent position in the Pay Band-3 of Rs. 15600-39100 with Grade Pay of Rs.5400/Rs.6000/ Rs.7000/Rs.8000 (Level 10/11/12of 7th CPC) having made contribution to research/teaching/extension Education as evidenced by published work/innovations and impact.
OR
Master Degree in relevant Engineering subject with 10 year’s experience as Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist or in an equivalent position in the Pay Band:3 of Rs.15600-39100 with Grade Pay of Rs.5400/Rs.6000/Rs.7000/Rs.8000 (Level 10/11/12 of 7th CPC) having made contribution to research/teaching/extension education as evidenced by published work/innovations and impact.
Experience:
Certificate in support of experience should be in proper format i.e. it should be on the Organization’s letter head bearing the date of issue, specified period of work, pay scale and specified job description issued by Competent Authority with name and designation.
Age Limit for the post of Associate Professor:
Not exceeding 47yrs. There is no maximum age limit for the IIFPT employees.

Assistant Professor (Livestock Product Technology/ Meat Science and Technology)
Essential Qualification
Master’s degree in Veterinary/Animal Sciences with specialization in Livestock Products Technology/Meat Science and Technology.
Age Limit for the post of Assistant Professor:
Not exceeding 32 years for master degree holders and 35 years in case of Ph.D. holders.
There will be No Maximum Age Limit for the IIFPT employees.

Assistant Professor (Food Science/Food Science & Nutrition)
Essential Qualification
Master’s Degree in Food Science/ Food Science and Nutrition
Age Limit for the post of Assistant Professor
Not exceeding 32 years for master degree holders and 35 years in case of Ph.D. holders.
There will be No Maximum Age Limit for the IIFPT employees.

📝 HOW TO APPLY

The candidates must apply through online in the application form available in the Institute website www.iifpt.edu.in and required application fee of Rs.500/- has to be paid through SBI Collect available in the Institute’s web-site: www.iifpt.edu.in. SC/ST/PwD and Women candidates are exempted from payment of Application fee. The off-line application sent directly to the Institute will not be considered.

After successful submission of online application, the downloaded application should send to The Director, Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT), Pudukkottai Road, Thanjvur – 613 005, Tamil Nadu within the due date. The following documents need to be attached with the application form:
a. The receipt of online application fee of Rs.500/- generated in SBI Collect.
b. Self-attested copy of proof certificates of birth, academic qualification, experience, publications, awards, category (ST/EWS), proof of special attainments and all other claims in the application. The certificates and other documents should be in the prescribed format.
All communications, in respect of applications for recruitment against the posts advertised by the IIFPT, should be addressed to The Director, Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology, Pudukkottai Road, Thanjavur – 613 005, Tamil Nadu and the following particulars has to be superscribed on the envelope:
a. Advertisement No…………..and date………………..
b. Name of the post applied for and discipline.
c. Address and phone number, email for correspondence as given in the application form. Communications without these particulars are liable to be ignored.
The last date for submission of online application for the above posts of Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Institute is 45 days from the date of publication of the above Employment Notification in “The Employment News”. Followed by receipt of hard copy of the application in the Institute within (07) seven days after closing of online portal and (15) fifteen days for candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu and Kashmir State, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.
