🏫 ABOUT INSTITUTION

Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM), a professionally managed trust with a large number of prestigious academic institutions under its umbrella. SVKM is the brain child of leading industrialists and socially conscious philanthropists who wanted to contribute to the local area by founding educational institutions.Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal was established in the year 1934 for the purpose of providing school level education to the residents of Vile Parle and the surrounding areas. Twenty five years later, as the Mandal celebrated its Silver Jubilee; suggestions were received from the members to make arrangements to provide college level education too. The absence of colleges run by Gujarati Managements in nearby suburbs compelled our students to go through daily commute to colleges in South Mumbai which was becoming more difficult day by day.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

These are mostly Post Graduate Programs. Along with Teaching, Coordinating & delivering the programs will be main responsibility of the faculty. Those in service or recently retired candidates can also apply.

Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree Level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent Degree from an accredited foreign University.

Relaxations

A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the Graduate and Master’s Level for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions.  The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures.

A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September, 1991.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • End to end responsibility of development and delivery of Programme.
  • Ensure to take prior approval from academic council for changes in the curriculum as suggested by Board of studies.
  • Ensure timely submission to office all relevant documents for Academic Council approvals.
  • Hold meetings with core and visiting faculty teaching in the programme.
  • Innovation in pedagogy.
  • Timely delivery of Programme.
    • Course objective /course content/ learning outcomes.
    • Course Material (Books/ cases/ reading material/ reference book etc).
    • Time table
    • Ensure timely completion of syllabus along with prescribed workshops/value added activities.
      • To ensure classes are held as per schedule and no rescheduling (other than extremely exceptional cases).
    • Examinations
      • Ensure quality of content in examination papers.
      • Ensure timely conduct of internal test by Faculty members.
      • Ensure timely sharing of internal marks by Faculty with students.
    • Ensure to maximize the learning opportunities for each student.
    • To coordinate with Experts as well Board of Studies members, to have high level of expertise in the courses taught and stimulate enthusiasm for those courses.
    • Ensure to conduct skill building activities and value added workshops/ guest sessions.
    • Review of Course outlines and timely submission to office.
    • To ensure that each program/course contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy.
    • Ensure there is no overlap between courses in the area in terms of content or cases.
    • To monitor students attendance and timely counsel students who have low attendance.
    • Mentoring/interaction with students.
    • To maximize the learning opportunities for each student.
    • Handling and solving student’s grievances.
    • To search and suggest faculty for recruitment (full time/Visiting).
    • Marketing of the programme to ensure target seats are filled.
    • Promote and enhance the image of the Programme.
    • To participate in placement activities throughout the year.
    • To become thoroughly familiar with all college policies and procedures and comply with them.
    • To be actively involved in the co-curricular activities of the students.
    • To make themselves available for all meetings, trainings and important events.
    • To enhance and maintain quality education, attend the students feedback, which is considered to be vital for maintaining the quality of education. Also to conduct feedback of stakeholders on course curriculum and Teachers.
    • Promote the values of SVKM and to improve the academic tone and content of the institution as well as motive others to achieve the ideals of SVKM.
    • Perform any other duties, assigned by the Management, Principal and Vice-Principal from time to time.
