πŸŽ“ QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Management of staff and operations of the Office of the Registrar.
  • Responsible for collecting, recording, maintaining and reporting of student records within UGC guidelines, e.g., grades, registration data, transcripts, mid-term verification, athletic eligibility and other associated audits.
  • Oversees all operations in the transfer credit process and prior learning credit process
  • Responsible for the development of the Academic Calendar, updating of the Registrars Office web site, and assists with the development and publication of the University Catalog.
  • Supervise the coordination, evaluation and certification of all graduation applications, while overseeing the complete graduation process to include all elements of the rehearsal and ceremony.
  • Responsible for enrollment and degree reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative and effective working relationships with a diverse group of leaders across the University, across the University of Maine System and with peers at other universities.
  • Provide leadership and develop appropriate recommendations for the implementation of related technology application in support of enhanced services offered through Registration and Records.
  • Serves on various University committees and advisory groups.
  • Manages the fiscal affairs of the department, including budget development and priorities; exercises direct fiscal control over the approved budget.
  • Research, analysis and resolution of student disputes as they relate to records and registration.
  • Collaborate with administrators, deans, faculty, IT and counselors to facilitate and improve services to students, including catalog and registration/records policy questions.
  • Coordinate, control and regulate all activities of administration, human resources, Finance & Accounts and other related matters for efficient functioning of the University.
  • Execute and administer the outsourcing contracts for various services of the University.
  • Serve as ex-officio member of Academic and Administrative Committees as per the Act.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelors degree with progressive experience in a registrar/student services functional capacity within a higher education institution.
  • 10 years of direct experience, or 15 years in a related area
  • Ability to deal effectively with University faculty, students, administrators, and staff, as well as various outside organizations and agencies in enforcing key University academic policies.
  • Experience, background, and/or demonstrated knowledge in competency-based education and transcriptions, including extended transcripts.
  • Experience in working with high education-high school dual enrollment/ dual degree programs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the application of modern communication technology.
  • Strong interest in being an advocate for both faculty and students through direct and indirect interaction, i.e procedural and systems development.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills
  • Successful supervisory experience in a people-oriented environment
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
