K L University, officially the Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation, is a deemed university located in the Vaddeswaram Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh, India. K L University consists of 11 academic departments and six schools, with emphasis on scientific and technological research.[1] Established in 1985, the college is located on a 100-acre (40 ha) site adjacent to Buckingham Canal, and is about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) from Vijayawada in Krishna District and 20 km from Guntur City. The institution is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, and is certified by ISO 9001 – 2000. It has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council with an A grade.

πŸŽ“ QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

Chief Librarian

❖ Qualification:B.L.I.S, M.L.I.S with Ph.D in Library Science
❖ Good knowledge in MS-Office
❖ Experience: 10 to 15 years relevant experience.

Role & Responsibilities:
Responsibility and Duties:
1. Manages staff, responsible for developing of vacation scheduling and approving time off for staff in accordance with the provisions in the Collective Agreements.
2. Participates in the development and achievement of annual and long-range goals and objectives of the Library with the management team, and in conjunction with Librarian and Library Board.
3. Ensures the preparation of annual departmental budget needs (Capital and Operating), in conjunction with the management team.
4. Develops Operating, Personnel and Capital Budgets with the management team and in conjunction with the Librarian & Library Board.
5. Represents the interests of the Library with the students & Faculty.
6. Prepares reports for and attends Library Board meetings.
7. Carries out the responsibilities of the Chief Librarian.
8. Researches emerging innovations and best practices in library service and recommends advances suitable for the University Library.
9. Directs and co-ordinates system wide development related to University functional planning,service innovation and change.
10. Works alongside the Librarian to develop major projects including system-wide department facility development.
11. Directs and co-ordinates system wide department functional operations and student service initiatives.
12. Oversees student & faculty service staffing development, working alongside the Librarian in developing a rigorous succession plan for staff.
13. Plans and co-ordinates training programs as necessary.
14. Performs other duties as assigned by the Management from time to time.

Candidate Profile:
❖ Should have Good communication skills.
❖ Should have good subject knowledge.
❖ The candidate should have a regular Degree in B.L.I.S, M.L.I.S.Ph.D with Library Science
❖ Strong knowledge in MS-Office& computer

Digital Library Assistant

Qualification:B.L.I.S, M.L.I.S
Good knowledge in MS-Office
Experience: 0 to 2 years. (Fresher can also apply)

Role & Responsibilities:
1) Lend and collect books, periodicals, videotapes, and other materials at circulation desks.
2) Enter and update patrons’ records on computers.
3) Process new materials including books, audiovisual materials, and computer software.
4) Sort books, publications, and other items according to established procedure and return them to shelves, files, or other designated storage areas.
5) Locate library materials for patrons, including books, periodicals, tape cassettes, Braille volumes, and pictures.
6) Instruct patrons on how to use reference sources, card catalogs, and automated information systems.
7) Inspect returned books for condition and due-date status, and compute any applicable fines.
8) Answer routine inquiries, and refer patrons in need of professional assistance to librarians.
9) Maintain records of items received, stored, issued, and returned, and file catalog cards according to system used.
10) Perform clerical activities such as filing, typing, word processing, photocopying and mailing out material, and mail sorting.
11) Provide assistance to librarians in the maintenance of collections of books, periodicals, magazines, newspapers, and audiovisual and other materials.
12) Take action to deal with disruptive or problem patrons.
13) Classify and catalog items according to content and purpose.
14) Register new patrons and issue borrower identification cards that permit patrons to borrow books and other materials.
15) Send out notices and accept fine payments for lost or overdue books.
16) Operate small branch libraries, under the direction of off-site librarian supervisors.
17) Prepare, store, and retrieve classification and catalog information, lecture notes, or other information related to stored documents, using computers.
18) Schedule and supervise clerical workers, volunteers, and student assistants.
19) Operate and maintain audiovisual equipment.
20) Review records, such as microfilm and issue cards, in order to identify titles of overdue materials and delinquent borrowers.
21) Select substitute titles when requested materials are unavailable following criteria such as age, education, and interests.
22) Repair books, using mending tape, paste, and brushes.
23) Deliver and retrieve items to and from departments by hand or using push carts.
24) Facilitate the acquisition of books, pamphlets, periodicals, and audiovisual materials by checking prices, figuring costs, and preparing appropriate order forms.
25) Place books in mailing containers, affix address labels, and secure containers with straps for mailing to blind library patrons.
26) Assist in the preparation of book displays.

Desired Candidate Profile:
❖ Should have Good communication skills.

❖ Strong knowledge in MS-Office& computer
❖ Should be able to manage any other responsibilities assigned by the HOD from time to time.
