🏫 ABOUT INSTITUTION

The Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT) is a pioneer Research and Educational Institution under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India. Dr. V. Subrahmanyan. an eminent scientist and founder Director, Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore, after his retirement, started PPRC in 1967 as R & D laboratory in the Modern Rice Mill complex of Thanjavur Co-operative Marketing Federation (TCMF) at Tiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, India under the dedicated leadership and the able guidance of late. The mandate of the Institute at its inception was to seek solutions for preserving high moisture paddy because the paddy harvest season in Southern India coincided with the tail end of the South West monsoon. The Institute was later upgraded as a national laboratory with the name Paddy Processing Research Centre (PPRC) in 1972. At the time of up-gradation the mandates of the Institute were also changed and the scientists in the Institute focused their research in identifying technologies for post harvest procession and preservation of paddy. The Institute was moved to it current location at Thanjavur in 1984.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

Adjunct Faculty
M. Tech. / M.Sc. / Ph.D. with specialization in Post-Harvest Technology / Food Technology / Food Engineering / Food science / Food science and Technology / Food science and Nutrition or Agricultural Engineering / Biotechnology / Chemical Engineering specialized in Food Process Engineering. The desirable qualification is Ph.D. in the respective disciplines Experience: A faculty retired from technical institutions or a person of eminence with a Post graduate or PhD qualifications having 10-15 years of experience from Industry / organization shall satisfy the following norms:
Teaching and research organizations of State / Central government Institutions / Universities
Central and State Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)
Reputed Industries
NRIs and PIOs working with reputed overseas academic, research and industrial organizations or having a demonstrated interest in Indian issues

Research Associate (RA) Designing 3-D printed foods for personalized nutrition Ph.D in Food Science/ Food and Nutrition/ Food Technology/ Chemical Engineering/ Food Process Engineering/ Biotechnology/ Nanotechnology. (or) Master’s degree in any of the above disciplines with 4/5 years of Bachelor’s degree having 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average, with at least three years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/ Associateship/ Training/ other engagements and one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI) / NAAS rated (>4.0) Journal as per OM SR/S9/Z09/2018 of DST dated.30.01.2019

Senior Research Fellow (SRF) (Institute projects) M.Tech / M.Sc. / Ph.D degree (4 yrs of UG + 2 yrs of PG) in Food Process Engineering/ Food Technology/ Agricultural Processing/ Food Science/ Food Science and Technology/ Food Science and Nutrition/ Food and Nutrition/ Chemical Engineering/ Biotechnology/ Packaging Technology/ Plastic Technology/ Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry/ Biochemistry/ Food Chemistry/Microbiology/ Food Technology and Management/ Food Process Engineering and Management/ Food Plant Operations and Management/ Food Safety and Quality Management / Food Supply Chain Management/ Post Harvest Technology/ Food & Nutrition/ Nanotechnology/ Dairy Technology. (or) M.Sc. degree (3 years of UG + 2 years of PG) in the above disciplines with NET and 2 years of research experience (or) Ph.D. in the above disciplines. The desirable qualification is Ph. Preference will be given to the candidate having significant experience in NABL accreditation or Lab establishment etc as well as in Operating Hi-Tech equipment’s like GCMS, FTIR, UHPLC, ICP-OES/MS etc.


🏆 SALARY / REMUNERATION / PAY SCALE

  • Adjunct Faculty Maximum Consolidated Remuneration will be Rs. 80,000/- per month (remuneration will be varied based on experience, expertise in the field)
  • Research Associate (RA) Rs. 40,000/- (Consolidated) plus 8% HRA
  • Senior Research Fellow (SRF) Rs. 31,000/- (Consolidated) plus 8% HRA
  • Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Rs. 25,000/- (Consolidated) plus 8% HRA
  • Project Assistant (PA) Rs. 20,000/- (Consolidated) plus 8% HRA
  • Food Analyst (Contractual) Rs. 60,000/- (Consolidated)
