Jadavpur University Invites Application for the Post of Teaching Faculty, Deputy Registrar, Assistant Controller of Examinations and Medical Superintendent

🏫 ABOUT INSTITUTION

In 1910 the Society for the Promotion of Technical Education in Bengal which looked after Bengal Technical Institute (which later became College of Engineering and Technology, Bengal) was amalgamated to NCE. NCE henceforth looked after the College of Engineering and Technology, Bengal which by 1940 was virtually functioning as a University. After Independence, the Government of West Bengal, with the concurrence of the Govt. of India, enacted the necessary legislation to establish Jadavpur University on the 24th of December 1955.Now Jadavpur University has successfully established itself as a foremost Indian University with a vast repertoire of courses offered, an enviable list of faculty members and has come to be known for its commitment towards advanced study and research.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

Professor Minimum Eligibility Criteria : a) As per UGC regulation as endorsed by the State Government vide G.O. No. 516 – Edn(u) / 1U-91/10 dt. 16th May, 2017 & 894-Edn(U)/HED-12014(21)/1/2019-UNV SEC-Dept. of HE dt. 07.08.2019. b) For M.Sc. Electronic Science (Unreserved – One post) : M.Sc. in Electronic Science / M.E. or M. Tech. in Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics & Communication.

Associate Professor Minimum Eligibility Criteria : a) As per UGC regulation as endorsed by the State Government vide G.O. No. 516 – Edn(u) / 1U-91/10 dt. 16th May, 2017 & 894-Edn(U)/HED-12014(21)/1/2019-UNV SEC-Dept. of HE dt. 07.08.2019

Assistant Professor Minimum Eligibility Criteria : a) As per UGC regulation as endorsed by the State Government vide G.O. No. 516 – Edn(u) / 1U-91/10 dt. 16th May, 2017. b) For M.Sc. Electronic Science (SC – One post) : M.Sc. in Electronic Science / M.E. or M. Tech. in Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics & Communication.

Deputy Registrar
Essential i. Uniformly good academic record with a Master’s Degree in with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale wherever a grading system is followed. ii. At least 10 (ten) years, of experience as Lecturer / Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs. 6000/- and above with experience in educational administration in Academic Institutions like University, Research Establishment and or in an institute of higher learning of which 5 (five) years must be in University or in and Institute of Post Graduate Study. OR Comparable experience in research establishments and other institution of higher learning. OR 10 (ten) years’ administrative experience, of which 5 (five) years’ shall be as Assistant Registrar or equivalent post iii. Age not less than 35 years. Relaxable in the case of exceptionally qualified candidates.
Desirable : A Doctor degree or published papers of high standard. OR Experience of at least 10 (ten) years’ in a fairly senior position in any academic institutions like a College or a University or a Research Organization.

Medical Superintendent
Essential : i. An M.B.B.S. Degree recognized by the I.M.C. ii. At least 10 years experience of medical practice in Government / Military / Quasi Government hospital. iii. Age not below 35 years. Relaxable in the case of exceptionally qualified candidates. iv. 10 years’ experience in hospital may be relaxed in case of private practice of reputation for 15 years.
Desirable : Post Graduate Degree in any of the branches of Medical Science or Diploma in Public and Tropical Medicine.

Assistant Controller of Examinations
Essential : i. Uniformly good academic record with a Master’s Degree with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale where a grading system is followed. ii. At least 10 years experience in a supervisory capacity in a University or a Research Institute or a Government / Quasi-Government Organization / Institute of Higher Learning / Private organization of repute. iii. At least 5 (five) years experience in the relevant field. iv. Age not below 30 years. Relaxable in case of exceptionally qualified candidates.
Desirable : A degree in Business Management or Law or Statistics or Planning, Knowledge of Computer, Data Entry.

  • Professor Rs. 1,44,200/- at Academic Level – 14 [Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200]
  • Associate Professor 1,31,400/- at Academic Level 13A [Rs. 1,31,400 – 2,17,100]
  • Assistant Professor Rs.57,700/- at Academic Level 10 [Rs. 57,700 – 1,82,700]
  • Deputy Registrar Rs. – 79,800 at Academic Level 12 (Rs. 79,800 – 2,11,500/-)
  • Medical Superintendent Rs. – 79,800 at Academic Level 12 (Rs. 79,800 – 2,11,500/-)
  • Assistant Controller of Examinations Rs. 57,700/- at Pay Level 10 (Rs. 57,700 – 1,82,400/-)

  • Please pay the application fee of Rs. 500/- following the payment link given (US $ 50.00 or equivalent Rupee for Indian citizen staying outside in D.D.) as indicated in the JU website (www.jaduniv.edu.in). Follow instructions for making payment and take print out of the receipt of payment / challan obtained. For making online payments, (a) Net banking, (b) Debit / Credit / Rupay card, (c) Challan (for making cash payment at SBI branches) options will be available. Use anyone of the options for making payment.
  • Fill up the blank application form and send the complete application form (one original and seven photocopies) along with attested photocopies of all certificates including NOC (if applicable), “Non Creamy Layer certificates” (up to date) for OBC candidates and
