🏫 ABOUT INSTITUTION

The Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU) was established by the Act No.14 of 1994 passed by the Gujarat State Legislature, and assented to by the Governor of Gujarat on 27th July, 1994. The BAOU is the seventh Open University in the country in terms of their establishment. The University offers 72 programmes with an enrolment of more than 1,00,000 learners.The headquarters of the university is located at Ahmedabad. The University has established Regional Centre on the campus of South Gujarat University, Rajkot and has initiated the process of another establishing Regional centre on the campus of North Gujarat University, Patan. The University has more than 507 study centers. It has jurisdiction over the whole state of Gujarat. It is open to all persons irrespective of classes, castes, creed, religion or sex.

Post – Associate Professor – Hindi, Sociology, Economics, Political Science, History, Sanskrit, English, Computer Science, Journalism and Mass Communication.
Essential
(1) Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned / allied / relevant disciplines. (N.B. Good academic record means 55% marks or an equivalent grade at master’s degree level as well as at bachelor’s degree level. However 55% OR equivalent grade at bachelor’s degree level shall not be the mandatory requirement for the candidate who is already within
and fulfilling selection criteria of concerned University / UGC at similar position.)
(2) A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
(3) A minimum of eight years of fulltime experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
(4) Contribution to educational innovation, designing of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.
(5) The requirement of API score must be as per the UGC norms in Appendix Table 2 vide University Grants Commission (UGC REGULATIONS ON MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT OF TEACHERS AND OTHER ACADEMIC STAFF IN UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES AND MEASURES FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF STANDARDS IN HIGHER EDUCATION ), Regulations, July 2018.
(6) The API Score sheet should be countersigned by the Head of the Institution / Principal / Dean of Faculty / Registrar of the University.
Preferable:
(1) Working knowledge of Gujarati Language.
(2) Experience of working in the Open Distance Learning System.
(3) Basic skill and knowledge of Computer.

Post – Associate Professor – Education
Essential

Post -Associate Professor – Special Education
Essential
Master Degree in any discipline with not less than 50% of marks*
M.Ed Degree in specific disability area with not less than 55% of marks Or an equivalent grade of B+ in 10-point scale of UGC
Or
An equivalent degree from a foreign university recognized by RCI
Ph.D in special Education or Education with Research emphasis on Special Education.
Should have completed at least 08 years of teaching experience as faculty out of which minimum 05 years should be in specific disability area Should have completed at least one general orientation course and two refresher courses in
education /special education of UGC Valid registration with RCI u/s 19 of RCI Act 1992 is essential
*RCI as Statutory Regulatory Body Prescribes 50% as per the UGC Regulation Gazette dt.September 18 2010 section 1.1.1
Desirable : Minimum 3 publications pertaining to Special Education in indexed journals and research experience.

Post – Assistant Professor – Special Education
Masters Degree in any subject area with not less than 50% of marks.
M.Ed. Degree in the specific disability area with not less than 55% of marks or an equivalent grade of B+ in 7 point scale or an equivalent degree from a foreign university recognized by RCI. (VI / HI / ID) Registration with RCI. Preferable :-
Special Education.
Working knowledge of Gujarati Language.
Experience of working in the Open Distance Learning System.
Basic skill and knowledge of Computer.
Desirable :
Ph.D. / M.Phil. in Education with research emphasis on special education.
Experience for a period of a least 3 years as teacher in the area of specific disability or 3 years of teaching experience at the diploma level. Note: It is mandatory that the faculty considered for appointment for Special Education & Rehabilitation at BAOU is registered with the RCI.

Post – Assistant Professor – English, Hindi, Sociology, Political Science, Computer Science, Journalism and Mass Communication.
Essential : i) Master‘s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in a relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be. Provided further, candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances / Bye- 6 laws / Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges / Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions :-
a) Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only;
b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners;
c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate had been conducted;
d) Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one must be in a refereed journal; e) Candidate has made at least two presentations in conference/seminars, based on his/her Ph.D work. (a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Registrar/ Dean (Academic Affairs).
iii) NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. OR B. Ph.D degree from a university/institution with a ranking in top 500 in the World University ranking (at any time) by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the Times Higher Education (THE) and Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).
Note: Academic score as prescribed in Appendix III, Table 3 A for Universities and 3 B for Colleges, shall be considered for short-listing of the candidates for interview only and the selections shall be based on performance in the interview

Post – Regional Director – Bhuj,Patan,Surat,Rajkot
Essential : (i) Good academic record with doctoral degree or equivalent published work. Candidates from outside university system in addition shall also possess at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in the Master’s degree level. (ii) Eight years’ experience of teaching and/or research including up to 3 years for research degree and has made some mark in the areas of scholarship as evidenced by quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula and educational administration. Desirable : (i) A degree/diploma in Education. (ii) Experience of working open University/Distance Education System (iii) Working knowledge of Computer.

Post – Assistant Regional Director – Bhuj,Patan,Surat,Rajkot
(a) Essential : Good academic record with at least 55% marks/equivalent grade at Master’s level in any discipline under the following areas. (i) Humanities and Social Sciences (ii) Science and Technology (iii) Management, Commerce and professional programmes. (b) Desirable : a. A degree/diploma in Education. b. Experience of working open University/Distance Education System c. Working knowledge of Computer.

Post -Senior Computer Programmer
Educational Qualification : MCA/MSc (IT)/MSc (CA & IT)/MSc (CS)/BE (CE/IT/CSE) with atleast 55% Experience : With at least 3 years of Experience Skills Required : Sound knowledge of following tools and language is essential. High level knowledge of HTML, CSS, Java Script, VB.Net, ADO.Net, SQL, ASP.Net, ASP.Net MVC, LINQ/Crystal Report or Mobile Application Development through Android / IOS. Development using Visual Studio IDE 2010 and higher. Design,Code,Test and publishing new Web Applications Enhancement and maintenance of existing software systems by identifying and correcting software defects.

Post – Computer Programmer
Educational Qualification : MCA/MSc (IT)/MSc (CA & IT)/MSc (CS)/BE (CE/IT/CSE) / or equivalent with atleast 55% Experience : With at least 1 years of Experience Skills Required : Sound knowledge of following tools and language is essential. High level knowledge of HTML, CSS, Java Script, VB .Net, ADO.Net, SQL, ASP.Net, ASP.Net MVC,LINQ/Crystal Report or Mobile Application Development through Android / IOS. Development using Visual Studio IDE 2010 and higher . Design, Code, Test and publishing new Web Applications Enhancement and maintenance of existing software systems by identifying and correcting software defects

Post – Database Administrator
Educational Qualification : MCA/MSc (IT)/MSc (CA & IT)/MSc (CS)/BE (CE/IT/CSE)/PGDCA/PGDMAD/PGDNA with at-least 55% Experience : With at least 3 years of Experience Skills Required : Sound knowledge of following tools and language is essential.
Experience in MS-SQL Database
Database administrator (DBA) is responsible for the performance, availability, integrity, security, confidentiality and reliability of a database. Involved in the planning and design of the database as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users. Developing, Managing automated back-up and recovery plans. Recovery of DB in case of Disaster. Integration of Databases and centralization of whole university database(s). Data Migration from different Data sources. Data Extraction through writing SQLs/Procedures etc. Installing and testing new versions of the Data Base Mgt. System. Managing databases in server / cloud environments. Candidate having certification in related area will be given preference

Post -Network Administrator
Educational Qualification : B.E (CE/IT/EC) With first class / MCA/MSc (IT) With at least 55% and / CCNA certification from Cisco *CCNP Certification from Cisco is desirable Skills Required : Installing/Commissioning/configuration/testing/Maintain of LAN, WI-FI, Firewall, Blade Server, EPBAX, CCTV surveillance system, virtual class room and NAS is required. Preparation of specification for computer hardware purchase Monitoring network and systems to improve performance ensure security and availability to specific users. Diagnosing and fixing problems or potential problems with the network and its hardware, software and system. Intercom Telephone management. Post –University Supervisor
Educational Qualification : MBA with at least 55% Experience : Experience of Supervisor Desirable : a. Experience of working open University/Distance Education System b. Basic Skill and knowledge of Computer. c. Working Knowledge of Gujarati Language.

Post – Technical Support Engineer cum vision Mixer Operator Educational Qualification :
❖ Graduate in Journalism and Mass Communication. and Minimum One Year experience in TV studio as vision mixer operator
❖ Diploma in Audio Video and Sound Technology is Preferable
❖ Computer Knowledge of English proficiency. Skills Required :
❖ overall operation and maintenance of TV and Radio Studio

Educational Qualification :

❖ Experience in Bisag or TV Channel.
Skills Required :
❖ Responsible for Post. production and editing of all recorded Programs and archiving the content on LTO for future use
