🏫 ABOUT INSTITUTION

Jamia Millia Islamia, an institution originally established at Aligarh in United Provinces, India in 1920 became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988. In Urdu language, Jamia means ‘University’, and Millia means ‘National’. The story of its growth from a small institution in the pre-independence India to a central university located in New Delhi—offering integrated education from nursery to research in specialized areas—is a saga of dedication, conviction and vision of a people who worked against all odds and saw it growing step by step. They “built up the Jamia Millia stone by stone and sacrifice by sacrifice,” said Sarojini Naidu, the nightingale of India. Jamia Millia Islamia was made a central university of India in December 1988. In the list of the Faculties, i.e. Education, Humanities & Languages, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences. Engineering & Technology, one more Faculty – Faculty of Law, was added in 1989. Many new courses and programmes at UG and PG levels have since been added.Besides its Nine faculties, the Jamia has a number of centres of learning and research, like AJK-Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC), Academy of International Studies etc. The Jamia is also marching ahead in the field of Information Technology (IT). It offers various undergraduate and postgraduate IT courses. Apart from this, the Jamia has a campus wide network which connects a large number of its departments and offices.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

Eligibility (A or B) : An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with, a minimum of 10 research publications in the peer reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 120 as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2. A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, and / or research experience at equivalent level at the University/National Level Institutions with evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidate. OR An outstanding professional, having a Ph.D. degree in the relevant/allied/applied disciplines, from any academic institutions (not included in A above) / industry, who has made significant contribution to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, supported by documentary evidence provided he/she has ten years’ experience.

A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale, wherever the grading system is followed). A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and / or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry with a minimum of seven publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of Seventy five (75) as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2.

One Assistant Professor, Department of English 9. One Assistant Professor, Department of History & Culture
Eligibility (A or B) : A. i) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University. ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET : Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye laws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions
a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;

Postgraduate degree in Education (M.Ed./M.A. Education with B.Ed.) with minimum 55% marks. An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. Degree in Education or in the discipline relevant to the area of specialization and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with, a minimum of 10 research publications in the peer reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 120 as per the criteria given in Appendix 11, Table 2. A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, and / or research experience at equivalent level at the University/National Level Institutions with evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidate. OR An outstanding professional, having a Ph.D. degree in the relevant/allied/applied disciplines, from any academic institutions (not included in A above) / industry, who has made significant contribution to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, supported by documentary evidence provided he/she has ten years’ experience. Eligibility (A or B): An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with, a minimum of 10 research publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 120 as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2. DEPARTMENT OF HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT & HOSPICE STUDIES One Professor
Eligibility: i) An eminent scholar having a Ph.D in Healthcare Management Discipline, and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with, a minimum of 10 research publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 120 as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2. ii) MBBS/BDS/BUMS/BAMS with MBA or equivalent with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale, wherever the grading system is followed). OR MBA in Hospital/Healthcare Management with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale, wherever the grading system is followed) from any reputed University or Institution recognized by the UGC. iii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, and / or research experience at equivalent level at the University/National Level Institutions with evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidate.
Desirable:- Candidates with teaching experience of healthcare papers at postgraduate level / 12 years managerial experience in hospital, of which at level 05 years at senior level comparable to that of an Administrator (Manager) of 500 bedded multi-specialty hospital and 03 years teaching experience of healthcare papers at post graduate level will be given preference. Priority will be given to candidates with good research publications in indexed and peer-reviewed / UGC-listed journals.

Two Associate Professors
Eligibility:-
A good academic record, with a Ph.D. Degree in the Healthcare Management Discipline.
MBBS/BDS/BUMS/BAMS with MBA or equivalent with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale, wherever the grading system is followed).

Desirable:-
Candidates with teaching experience of healthcare papers at postgraduate level / 10 years managerial experience in hospital, of which at level 05 years at senior level comparable to that of an Administrator (Manager) of 500 bedded multi-specialty hospital and 03 years teaching experience of healthcare papers at post graduate level will be given preference.
Priority will be given to candidates with good research publications in indexed and peer-reviewed / UGC-listed journals.

Four Assistant Professors

One Professor

Eligibility (A or B)
An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in area of Environmental Studies/Environmental Science/ Environmental Science & Management and Engineering and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with, a minimum of 10 research publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 120 as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Notification – 2018.
A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college as Assistant Professor out of which at least three (03) years shall be at a post equivalent to that of an Associate Professor or Professor or candidate having research experience at equivalent level at the University/National Level Institutions with evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidate.
OR
An outstanding professional, having a Ph.D. degree in the area of Environmental Studies/Environmental Science/Environmental Science & Management and Engineering from any academic institutions (not included in A above) I industry, who has made significant contribution to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, supported by documentary evidence provided he/she has ten years experience.

Associate Professors
Eligibility:
A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale, wherever the grading system is followed) in area of Environmental studies/Environmental Science/Environmental Science & Management /Environmental Science and Engineering.
A good academic record, with a Ph.D. Degree in area of Environmental Studies/Environmental Science/Environmental Science & Management /Environmental Science and Engineering.
A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and / or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry with a minimum of seven publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of Seventy five (75) as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Notification -2018.

Assistant Professors
Eligibility (A or B) :- A Master’s degree (M.Sc./M.Tech) in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Environmental Science & Management, Environmental Science and Engineering subjects with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. The candidates having Ph.D. Degree in allied subjects such as Biosciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Geography Geology with specialization in the area of Environmental Science from an Indian University, or from an accredited foreign University. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications (i) and (ii) the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D.
