Tezpur University is looking for Guest Faculty for the Department of Sociology The selected candidate(s) will be required to take classes for the students of the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Tezpur University, and may also be engaged for subsequent semester(s), if required.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT
Eligibility (A or B):
i) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject (as given in the previous column) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET: Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions:-
a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;
b) The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
d) The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal;
e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC / ICSSR/ CSIR or any similar agency.
The fulfilment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.
Note: NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is nqt conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET.
B. The Ph.D degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).
Along with the applications, applicants (for all the departments) are to submit a 10-minute lecture video on a topic of their specialization / subject area.
With regard to the minimum requirement of educational qualification, screening, etc., relevant regulation of UGC / AICTE / NCTE will be applicable.
The selected candidates may also be engaged for subsequent semester(s). if required.
🏆 SALARY / REMUNERATION / PAY SCALE ₹
- Emoluments: Appointed Guest Faculties will be paid Rs. 1,500/- per lecture subject to a maximum of Rs.50,000/- per month. No other allowances will be admissible.

Interested candidates are to register their names along with detailed biodata/CV as given in Annexure-I along with the filled-in ANNEXURE-I I (attached herewith) by e-mail to the Head of the concerned Department as stated above with the subject line “APPLICATION FOR GUEST FACULTY against Advt. No. 02 /2021,Advt. No. 03 /2021
Candidates who do not register his / her name by the aforesaid time & date shall not be interviewed. Eligible candidates so registered shall appear before the concerned Selection Committee through GOOGLE MEET as per the above schedule. The link for the GOOGLE MEET shall be forwarded to the short-listed candidates before the interview.
Further, in view of the prevailing situation due to the COVID 19 pandemic, initially the classes for the next semester may be held through ONLINE MODE. Hence, the interested candidates must have the expertise and experience for the same besides having the required facilities at their end.
However, as and when normal classes resumes, the selected Guest Faculties would be required to be present in the campus to take the classes physically.
The Academic score as specified under UGC Regulations, 2018, in Appendix II (Table 3A) for Universities, shall be considered for short-listing of the candidates for interview only, and the selections shall be based only on the performance in the interview including a pre-interview presentation. Hence, the applicants must submit the filled in form as given at Annexure-l&ll below.
If a large number of candidates register for the interview by the last date as stated above, then candidates short-listed on the basis of academic qualifications and experience (as per Annexure-II) may be called for the interview through e-mail and a notice for such applicants may also be uploaded in the University website before the scheduled date of interview. In absence of such e-mail/notice, all candidates who register their names as stated above may appear for the interview on the scheduled date and time.

Selected candidates will be required to submit a signed copy of the detailed biodata/CV as stated above and a set of self-attested photocopies of all the supporting documents. Further, all testimonials in original must be produced for verification at the time of joining.
If a large number of candidates register for the interview by the last date as stated above, then candidates shortlisted on the basis of academic qualifications and experience, if any, may be called for the interview through e-mail and a notice for such applicants may also be uploaded in the University website two days ahead of tire scheduled date of interview. In absence of such e-mail/notice, all candidates who register their names as stated above may appear for the walk-in-interview on the scheduled date and time.
