University of Gour Banga is a public state university located in Malda, West Bengal, India. It is one of the newest state universities established in 2008 by the Government of West Bengal on Act XXVI 2007.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

Professor
Minimum Eligibility Criteria:
a. An eminent scholar with consistently good academic record and a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/ allied/ relevant discipline with a number of high quality research publications in reputed journals and / or publication of books.
b. At least l0 years ‘experience in University/ College and/ or experience in research in university/ reputed research institutions/ industries.
c. Research guidance of doctoral students.
d. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based on Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out the in UGC Regulations 2016 in Appendix III Table II (B).
OR
An outstanding professional with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contribution to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.
Additional Experience:
a. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses and use of modern technology in teaching-learning process.

Associate Professor
Minimum Eligibility Criteria:
a. Good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/ allied/ relevant disciplines.
b. A Master’s degree in concerned / allied/relevant disciplines with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) along with relaxations applicable to specified categories, as explained in the Note 1(G.O. No. 516-Edn(U)/1U-91/10 dated, Kolkata the 16th May, 2017).
c. A minimum of 8 (eight) years of experience of teaching and/ or research in an academic/ research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or reputed research institution/ industry with a number of good quality publications in reputed journals and/ or publication of books.
d. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicators (API) based on Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out the in UGC Regulations 2016 in Appendix III Table II (B).
Additional Experience: a) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses and use of modern technology in teaching-learning process. b) Guidance of Ph. D students/ research projects.

Assistant Professor
i) Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master Degree level in a relevant subject, along with relaxations applicable to specified categories, as explained in the Note 1(G.O. No. 516-Edn(U)/1U-91/10 dated, Kolkata the 16th May, 2017).
ii) The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC (CSIR) or similar test accredited by the UGC like NET/SLET/SET, along with exemptions to specified categories, as explained in the Note 2 (G.O. No. 516-Edn(U)/1U-91/10 dated, Kolkata the 16th May, 2017).
A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and master’s level for the Scheduled Caste /Scheduled Tribe / OBC (Category A & B) / Differently-able (Physically, visually and differently-able) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures.
A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991. Based on the University Grants Commission’s Notification No.F.3-112009, d1.30.06.2010 notified in Gazette of India on 18th September, 2010 and pursuant to the University Grants Commission (Minimum qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education) (4th Amendment),- Regulations, 2016 vide No. F.l-2/2016 (PS/Amendment) notified in the Gazette of India on 11th July, 2016, the State Government in the Dependent of Higher Education, Science & Technology and Biotechnology, taking into account all aspects of the matter, including local conditions, has decided to prescribe the following eligibility criteria, qualifications and norms for direct recruitment to the posts of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor in the State-aided Universities of West Bengal.

Registrar
a. Essential Qualification: i. Uniformly good academic record with a Master’s Degree with minimum 55% marks or its Equivalent grade in the point scale wherever a grading system is followed. ii. At least 15 years of experience as Sr. Lecturer/ Reader/ Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs. 7000/- and above or with 8 years of service in the AGP of RS. 8000/- and above including as Associate Professor along with experience in educational administration in Academic Institutions like University, or in an institute of higher learning of which 5 (five) years must be in a University or in an Institute of Post Graduate Study. OR Comparable Experience in research establishment and other institutions of higher learning. OR 15 Fifteen) years administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or equivalent post. iii. Age not less than 40 years. Relaxable in the case of exceptionally qualified candidate. b. Desirable Qualification: i. A Doctorate Degree or published research work of merit. OR ii. High level of administrative experience in a Government or Quasi Government organization or a good background in administration and management in senior position

Deputy Registrar a. Essential Qualification: i. Uniformly good academic record with a Master’s Degree with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale wherever a grading system is followed. ii. At least 10 years’ of experience as Lecturer/ Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs. 6000/- and above with experience in educational administration in Academic Institutions like University, Research Establishment and/or in an institute of higher learning of which 5 (five) years must be in a University or in an Institute of Post Graduate Study. OR Comparable experience in research establishments and other institutions of higher learning. OR 10 (ten) years’ administrative experience, of which 5 years shall be as Assistant Registrar or equivalent post. iii. Age not less than 35 years. Relaxable in case of exceptionally qualified candidates. b. Desirable Qualification: i. A Doctorate Degree or published papers of high standard. OR ii. Experience of at least 10 years’ in a fairly senior position in any academic institutions like a College or a University or a research organisation.

University Engineer (Civil) a. Essential Qualification: i. Uniformly good academic record with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale wherever grading system is followed; ii. At least 10 years’ experience in a position involving supervision, control and planning of construction work under Government / Quasi Government/ University / Institute of Higher Learning. iii. Age not less than 35 years. Relaxable in the case of exceptionally qualified candidate. b. Desirable Qualification: i. A postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering. ii. Experience of 5 years in large scale industrial concern and in a position involving, decision making in planning, estimation, designing and supervision of construction.

Audit Officer a. Essential Qualification: i. Uniformly good academic record with a Master’s Degree in Commerce/ Finance with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale wherever a grading system is followed. ii. 5 (five) years of working experience in Supervision, Control, Planning and Management of Accounts and Audit, preparation of budget in Government, Quasi-Government or University or Commercial Establishment. iii. Age not less than 30 years. Relaxable in case of exceptionally qualified candidates. iv. b. Desirable Qualification: i. Chartered Accountant or Cost accountant or Business Management Degree.
