Netaji Subhas University of Technology Invites Application for the Post of Adjunct Faculty and Visiting Faculty in the Department of Architecture

Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), New Delhi has been established as State University by the Government of NCT of Delhi and is regarded as one of the premier Technical Universities of India. NSUT was upgraded from “Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology” (NSIT) in 2018, tracing back 37 years of glorious history of nurturing some of the finest minds in the country.Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) is a seat of higher technical education in India. Prof. Jai Prakash Saini is the Founder Vice-Chancellor of Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), New Delhi. The institute has grown leaps and bounds since its inception, both in size and in the scope of its activities. The overall academic environment in the institution is highly conducive for achieving excellence in education and research. It has been consistently ranked as one of the top engineering colleges in India and has featured prominently in various national level surveys conducted by reputed professional and trade magazines.


The University invites application from interested Retired/Serving Faculty members/ Other Professionals as indicated from reputed institutions for various positions such as Adjunct Faculty, Professor Emeritus and Visiting Faculty, in the Department of Architecture. The above appointments will be against vacant posts of faculty positions in the University and will be for
the period as mentioned in each category as per details below or till the time regular appointments are made against these faculty position, whichever is earlier. The essential requirements are as under:

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

Adjunct Faculty
Reputed scientists, engineers, academicians, physicians, artists, civil servants, and other professional’s both serving and retired (from active service), can be inducted as Adjunct faculty to add valuable expertise and practical knowledge and complement the knowledge pool of existing faculty. The following will be some broad guidelines for selection of adjunct faculty.
(i) They must be persons of repute, comparable to at least the top one third of the regular faculty in professional expertise and reputation in their own fields and organizations.
(ii) Adjunct faculty will supervise student projects at all levels – UG to Ph.D., carry out sponsored research and consultancy, and teach courses, all these activities either independently or in collaboration with a regular faculty. They may also be members of Departmental Committees, if their professional experience becomes useful. While teaching courses, they may take responsibility of a full semester-long course or only a part thereof in collaboration with a regular faculty. The degree of involvement will be worked out mutually by the adjunct faculty and the University.
(iii) Adjunct faculty will be appointed by the Board of Management on the recommendation of a Committee headed by the Vice Chancellor, NSUT. Duration of appointment shall be between 1 to 5 years.
(iv) They will be paid remuneration if they are taking a full course. The remuneration shall be at par with the remuneration of ‘A’ category of Guest faculty/Part-time faculty in NSUT. (v) Adjunct faculty may receive financial support at the discretion of the Vice Chancellor, NSUT to attend conferences in India or abroad for presenting their work done in the University, if in the opinion of the Vice Chancellor, he/she has contributed significantly to the University’s academic programme.

Professor Emeritus
Faculty superannuating from the service in NSUT and other institutions/ Universities may be inducted by the Board as ‘Professor Emeritus’ for a maximum period of 3 years on the recommendation of a committee. This provision is limited to faculty with proven academic & research credentials. Such appointment shall be made against sanctioned faculty posts only. The remuneration of such Professor will be fixed in the regular scale for the post of Professor at the entry level or last pay drawn minus pension, whichever is less. They shall not be entitled for retirement and other benefits. HRA & Transport Allowance will not be admissible.

Visiting Faculty
Academic personnel from Universities, Institutes, R&D labs, Industry or Government in India or abroad, including those on sabbatical leave from other institutions or retired, may be inducted into the University for brief periods (Maximum 2 years), with or without remuneration. They may be appointed by Vice Chancellor on recommendation of the Head of the Department and any faculty member in the department who will serve as host. Honorarium for the Visiting Faculty shall not be more than the salary of regular Professor at the entry level, if any, of the University. They shall not be entitled for any retirement benefits. The faculty from abroad may be paid to-and-fro air fare (economy class) once in two years from his/her country to India. They shall not be entailed for retirement and other benefits.
Note:
(i) Professor Emeritus and Visiting Faculty would be engaged only against the vacant positions up to the age of 70 years.
(ii) Such faculty members are expected to work full time taking academic responsibilities at par with regular faculty members. (iii) They will be entitled to a maximum of 30 days of leave including Casual Leave, Special Casual Leave, Half Pay Leave etc. on the basis of one year service rendered. No leave encashment or carry forward will be permissible on the termination of services or renewal of the term, if renewed.
(iv) They will not be entitled for any vacation in NSUT.

Interested retired persons may apply for the above positions in the prescribed format on or before 05.12.2020(Saturday) for their consideration for appointment in the next semester. The prescribed format is also available on the NSUT website. Those who have already applied need not apply again.
Application received after the last date i.e. 08.12.2020 will be taken up later on requirement basis or for the next semester. The duly filled up applications may be forwarded to the mail ID hoo@nsut.ac.in
