💼 ABOUT INSTITUTION

Established in 1971 and named as  University of Cochin, it was the symbol of commitment from the Government of Kerala towards the new scientific policy resolution adopted by the Central Government on 4th March 1958. The birth of the new University was with the specific purpose of “development of higher education with particular emphasis on post-graduate studies and research in applied science, technology, industry and commerce”. The University of Cochin was later reorganized as Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in February 1986. Specialisations are available in  all Faculties/Departments for higher studies and research. By giving recognition to several well-established premier research institutions in the country and the Southern Naval Command of Indian Navy, the University has brought within its reach the resources available in these institutions also to the use of our  academic community.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENT

Professor (Regular)

Instrumentation
Minimum Qualifications:
a. Ph.D. Degree in relevant field and First Class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the relevant branch
AND
b. Minimum of 10 years of experience in teaching / research / industry out of which at least 3 years shall be at a post equivalent to that of an Associate Professor.
AND
c. At least 6 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in SCI journals / UGC/A1CTE approved list of journals and at least 2 successful Ph.D. guided as Supervisor/ Co-supervisor
OR
At least 10 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in SCI journals / UGC/AICTE approved list of journals.

Associate Professor (Regular)

Electronics (Robotics / Automation)
Minimum Qualifications:
i) Ph.D Degree in the relevant field and First Class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level in Electronics or Allied Areas
ii) At least total 6 research publications in SCI Journals/UGC/AICTE approved list of journals.
iii) Minimum of eight years of experience in teaching/ research / indust which at least 2 years shall be Post Ph.D experience.

Assistant Professor (Regular)

Computer Applications
Minimum Qualifications:
Essential:- .
B.E/B.Tech/B.S. and M.E/M.Tech/M.S.or Integrated M.Tech in relevant branch with first class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.
OR
B E B Tech and MCA with First Class or equivalent in any one of the two degrees.
OR
Graduation of three years’ duration with Mathematics as a compulsory subject and MCA with First Class or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience after acquiring degree of MCA.
Note- Candidates who have done Ph.D after the Bachelor’s Degree from institution of . National importance with GATE/GPAT/CEED shall be eligible for the post of Assistant Professor.

Legal Studies (Constitutional Law / Maritime Law)
i) Master’s Degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading System is followed) in relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. The clearing of NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for candidates in such disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET has not been conducted.
Candidates who are or have been awarded a Ph.D Degree in accordance with the • University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D Degree) Regulations 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case shall be exempted from NET/SLET/SET:
Provided, the candidates registered for Ph.D programme prior to July 11,2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances / Byelaws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor, subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:-
a) The Ph.D degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;
b) The Ph.D thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
c) An open Ph.D viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
d) The candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal:
e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC/ ICSSR/ CSIR or any similar agency.
The fulfillment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.
OR
The Ph.D degree has been obtained from a foreign University/lnstitution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

Marine Geology & Geophysics ( Electronics with specialization in Digital Signal Processing)

a. Instruction Sheet I (General Instructions) – can be downloaded from the website of the University – http://faculty.cusat.ac.in or www.cusat.ac.in.
b. A working e-mail id of the candidate shall be given in the application:
All communications in connection with the recruitment will be sent to the registered e-mail id only and hence the candidates are directed to check their e-mail periodically.
C. Separate applications with prescribed fees, should be submitted for each post having separate serial number.
d. Qualifications and Experience:
Information Sheet II containing details of qualifications prescribed for the posts can be downloaded from the website of the University, www.cusat.ac.in/faculty.cusat.ac.in.

Candidates should apply online on or before 16.11.2020.
One signed hard copy of the filled up online applications (Part A & Part B) along with Registration Fee and copies of documents to prove age, community, qualifications, percentage of marks, experience, copies / reprints of publication (if any) with proof of impact factor etc. should reach the Registrar, Cochin University of Science and Technology. Kochi – 682 022 before 5.00 PM on 23.11.2020. Candidates who have applied online but failed to submit the hard copies of the application in time will not be considered for selection. Four hard copies of the filled up online applications and 4 copies/reprints of publications shall be produced at the time of certificate verification in connection with the interview.
Candidates who are employed on regular basis in Government/Quasi Government/State Autonomous Organization should forward their applications through proper channel with No Objection Certificate. However they can send an advance copy to the Registrar directly.
Late and Defective applications will be summarily rejected.

The Subject / Specialization and the serial number of the post as given in the notification should also be clearly mentioned in the column ‘post applied for’ in the application.
Separate applications (online), along with prescribed Registration fee, should be submitted for each post having separate serial numbers.

Contract Appointments

Interested candidates should apply online through the website www.faculty.cusat.ac.in before the last date. The hard copy of the online application in the prescribed format as downloaded from the website, strictly adhering to the terms/regulations mentioned in the Notification should reach the Office of the Registrar before the last date prescribed along with the following enclosures;
a. Self attested copies of necessary documents in proof of all claim made in the application such as Qualification, Date of Birth, Reservation etc.
b. Print out of the receipt showing the Transaction ID for NEFT transaction.
c. Bio data
Applications that are not submitted in the prescribed format or received after the last date prescribed will be summarily rejected. Claims made in the application without supporting documents will not be considered. Claims which are not mentioned in the original application submitted will not be considered at any later stage of application processing. Application fee is not refundable.
